Fix your AC issues for $20 [Blower Resistor and Ground Issues]

Help my AC only works on 3?!?!?!? Super common issue as these trucks get older. Ac issues plague the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon and Hummer H3. Often the issue is quickly rectified by replacing the resistor under the glove box.
Now I'm not saying you can fix this in 5 minutes but this 5 minute video will give you the confidence to fix this issue yourself, quickly, for basically $20.

Very informative and Im going to do this to my Canyon. But I am confused that the links to the parts on Amazon are for a toyota tacoma. Are they the same parts or is it the wrong link?

turns out the toyota part fits and works 100%. It just so happens that GM and Toyota used a similar part.

So mine will work at every speed setting but sometimes none of them work at all. But after driving for a little bit it will turn back on. I noticed it only does this when its pretty hot out and i need it the most... i also noticed if i turn the speed to 0 the ac light will remain lit and it still runs the ac comp. Any ideas? Maybe the hvac switch panel? I also had a weird issue the other day where it wouldnt wanna start. Its like everything just had no power when i turned the key. Even though my battery and connections are good

Ground points can do some crazy stuff. Clean those and report back.

I don't think that's related to the blower motor issues he's having. Electrical issues on these trucks were pretty common.

@BadlandIndustries I did end up checking the grounds before i read your comment and that solved my problem! I cleaned up the main body grounds on the passenger side and the ac started working! Good thing too cuz it was on the hottest day we've had so far this summer and I had to drive my girlfriend to the auto shop to pickup her car. Thanks for getting back to me though! Noone usually ever does on here so I usually don't bother checking.

Also I didn't have my Dremel with me when I fixed it cuz I was at work taking a break but I did have a small wire brush attachment for my drill that did the trick. I'm gonna clean up the main ground next to the battery next time I'm working on the truck
