This was a great, informative, no nonsense video. Thank you Saul. I just broke a ski and will use your guide to help me try repairing it. I have nothing to lose - it's already broken! But your instruction gives me hope.

Interesting approach. Due to a recent incident with my national airline, I've repaired one Rosignol S2 and two Fischer Carbonlite skate skis in a similar fashion; although these being race skis, I built a form to hold each ski in its correct camber, made and embedded a carbon fiber / epoxy split inside the core of the ski, and made a new topsheet from carbon fiber / epoxy. I'm able to flex the ski without damage to the repair and the camber characteristics appear to be close to the original ski.

Great and informative video. Did you notice any difference in the stiffness of the skis?
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I'm glad you found it informative. No, I didn't notice any difference in the stiffness of the skis.

I love your videos, thank you. That being said, the integrity of the ski is compromised by being broken. Does it perform well? I am assuming that while the ski is functional, it might not actually glide as it should. Probably better off with a new pair of skis. Thoughts?

H there, my skates ski cracked from the base , the ski is hold together only by the top part of the ski , I tried everything I could think of to glue the core together but no luck , since I have nothing to lose I might try your fix or do you think I'm wasting my time ? Thanks

It all depends on how you value the skis. Lots of work without any guarantee.

Beautiful work! I’m inspired to try and repair the binding screw holes with polyester or epoxy resin as it pulled out on my peltonen wood core cross country skis. Am I crazy? Wife wants me to toss them, but I have to try something.

Blown screws are usually easy to fix. Go for it.

Beautiful work. Yet the ski should be rebranded :-) "..The word atom is derived from the ancient Greek word atomos (a combination of the negative term "a-" and "τομή," the term for "cut") that means "uncuttable".." [ 1 ]. [1] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atom#In_philosophy
