i was having issues with the "wired remote" namely the 3.5mm jack on it. sound kept distorting and breaking, first time i opened it up and a dead moth fell out. dusted it and put it back together and no further issues. about 6 months later i start having the same issue. take it apart again and i find a small pale bug wriggling around. i kill it and place the board on my desk and it promptly made a really loud sound. so i got the bottom plate and rested the board on that. i cant recall audio coming out of that jack sounding so clear. and to think i was about to drop $200 on a new sound system because of this. if your having the same issue remove the feet on the bottom of that thing and disassemble it and see if anything falls out.

Ha! Good job. Although, I kinda feel that the cable you sacrificed was worth more than the speakers! 😆

lol, the ls21 may be old but I paid like 3 bucks for'em and they sound way better than the speakers they replaced.

All you had to do was the jack not rewire the entire thing Jack could have been easily fix by either cutting it open cut the wire back resolder and glue or heatshrink or new jack and just solder the wires to it and use heatshrink

I chose to replace the entire jack and wires so that a repair wasn't out in the open (even with heat shrink) since the original broke where the plug is prone to break.

Si no tienen un DAC no sirve porque van a tener un volumen muy bajo, ya lo probé. :/

With it powered off open it and check the easy stuff first like loose or disconnected wires to the sub speaker.

The amplifier chip is broken. Quite common on this model.
