Definetly practice both. I recommend doing low rim dunk session/jump sessions where you only jump off your weak plant. Do this 1-2 times per week.

UNDERRATED?????? you literally explain it soo like good so even me a beginner can learn but all the other tutorials no offense are not good like if i search up proper jump technique it just says to penultimate then jump but it doesent tell me what penultimate is and what to do before it and what to do after it

Informative video!! My penultimate shortens the longer the run up. I wish I could use my run up to jump, but my penultimate sucks then. On the other hand when I jump with just a hop and one step, my penultimate is longer and I am 25% above rim with my hand. I wish I could somehow learn how to maintain my penultimate long while doing a bigger run up, I'm sure I'd be a few inches higher! any thoughts?

great question. the reason your penultimate is bad when you get a lot of speed is because your body isn't strong enough to handle that speed so it collapses. there are a few things you can do to fix this. 1. Get a stronger core. 2. get stronger ankles. 3. practice a slow penultimate then slowly increase the speed
