Hi Mate, thx 4 the nice and well done vid. I also prefer C-type Fixe or Raumer anchor (for bottom one) because eliminates the need of adding a quicklink (open setup) and the horizontal slot prevent rope rubbing due ring´s perpendicular alignment. Attention to details in Fixe hardware feels good as well.

I don't know why raumer doesn't make their chain anchors with this style. It's problematic having that single ring and a standard hanger like they do

8:33 polishing is an important step, before passivation of stainless, I'm not sure if fixe care about any of thoses steps? I don't like shiny stainless, It's a bit sad that almost no body do heat treatment to darken their products. I believe they have put a big ring at top as they tend to be not so great at welding.... (that's why the previous chain were stress cracking, even FAR from the sea), big stuff are easier to weld without making catastrophe, and big stuff still hold enough when cracked, or badly weld. This theory doesn't work if they are really producing themself the chain.

Yes good point about the passivation, I hadn't thought about that! Not everyone does that so maybe they think using 316L is sufficient to comply with the new corrosion standards in EN959 and there's no need to do extra
