Dark Beginnings was such an incredible trilogy of episodes that were so intense. It characterized Shadow brilliantly, showcased his amazing friendship with Maria (btw Stephanie Sheh NAILED the voice), reunited Team Dark, and showcased top notch animation with great fights. Seeing all the characters themselves being handled with great care and respect was so awesome to see. I'm glad Flynn went deeper with characters like Maria and Abe.

28:03 Kirk has improved as shadow regarding tone and line delivery. When he screams chaos control and Maria it sounds similar to Jason Griffith. But he can improve even more if he removes the gruffness in his shadow voice. Sometimes it can make him sound too old and a bit too evil. Jason and David did a better job at making him sound more natural and youthful. Kirk can do it to look at his Saix voice from Kingdom Hearts and Jin's voice from Samurai Champoo.

They rereleased all the episodes together recently and added a little bonus scene at the end, it's like a short dialogueless scene, but I still thought it was cool.

Great video and ranking, glad to see you included Night of the Werehog since a lot of people seem to forget about it, makes me Wish Marza could animate more short films or even a full movie for Sonic.

Although, I confess that, with all the 2D promos that we've been having the past few years, I totally didn't expect Night of the Werehog to be included in a list like this one, even though it totally deserves to. I never forgot about that animation, but I somehow disassociated it from this category.

@@LowTierMarston Ah, I do know why I've disassociated it, it's because Night of the Werehog feels like a good old PIXAR short film, with an animated credits sequence that gives us even more of those vibes. On the other hand, the credits in the current promos feature gameplay from the game they're promoting. Totally different vibes, though not without their merits.

Yep, this promo does hype us to play Shadow Generations like no other promo before it. Great job from SEGA and everyone involved. I'm so glad for the respect the characters have had the past few years. I thought those flashbacks from Shadow near the end were actual flashbacks, as in there being a chamber within the ARK that holds plant life and looks like a forest. This was not the first time we've seen Shadow and Maria sitting down on the grass (Sonic X maybe?), so that's why that thought was in my mind. Maybe it's both?

For the first promo - for sonic colours ultimate - the translator was so that Sonic and Tails could understand the wisps language, not so the wisps could also understand them. Let me put it like this my dog can understand what i say when i tell him to do something or call his name, so he understands english, doesnt mean he's going to start talking in english back to me. The IDW comics also show this as the wisps understand when any character talks to them, but the characters need a special translator to understand what the wisps say.

Have you seen Project Shadow 2023? It's a live-action Brazilian fan-film (with an English dubbed version too) to serve as a prequel to Sonic Movie 3, and it does a good job at portraying Shadow and Maria, and even Prof. Gerald, before GUN attacked.

4:56 let's think calmly. this scene was really horrible, but Shadow's car didn't have have room for Rouge and Omega 5:19 but Omega crashed his car because of Rouge 6:22 he didn't yank Sonic's nose out his face. he just hurt it some chapters of this video are with typing errors

"I really want a treasure hunting variant of this stage" I want treasure hunting back in general. Maybe with more content and fighting than SA1 but I gotta admit that I loved the treasure hunting more than I expected to. And it'd be a great way to bring back Rouge playable alongside him. ❤️ 💜

While Dark Beginnings was objectively the best, I really loved Knuckles the most. It brought knuckles back to the stoic, badass version of himself that the dark ages of sonic games ruined. Was great to see knuckles brought back to the adventure era version everyone loved
