Now That was a Knife Review !! I love doing knife reviews but I think mine are gear more towards sentiment.’ I’m an avid collector and like showing my collection to interested youtubers . I base most of my collection off of what others have already reviewed . I may use a knife here and there while demonstrating but nothing compares to what I just saw . I hung on every word . I have the Esse 6 already ( love it )!! That’s my small guy haha . I also have the ESEE Junglas 2 ( big guy )for my chopping needs . Right now I have the Spartan in my cart . I’m debating on whether or not to commit . Selling point ???? I had no idea Ka-Bar is the actual owner of the Spartan name . ( I love Ka-Bar ... I just recently added the D2 Extreme to my collection and I absolutely love it )!! The only thing I don’t like about the Spartan is the price ( I think it’s a bit overpriced and I always say a good combat knife should be under $100 Mark . This way the government will have more produced for the troops . So I’m still debating . Anyway -- Great thorough video and you are definitely going to help me decide . I own both. The Spartan handles are a terrible design. It's gone into storage until I can either find replacements or find the time to add spacers and then round them.

The choil is a deal breaker for me. Does the Spartan have a option with no choil like ESEE?

Those snaps on the sheath are not good. Love the deaign on the knife but not the sheath belt loop. It will break. Both are great brands from experience. Get a new sheath if you go with the spartan

Its a pain in the ass to sharpen these recurve blades.I would chose ESSE over Spartan if it would not be so overpriced.There are better options on the market for the money.

The Spartan looks like a Schrade! I'll buy an esse as soon as they make the 6 in 154 CM....or anything besides 1095 (nothing against 1095) I have a ton of knives in it...just want something different.

Spartan blades have always been overpriced for what they are! $200 for 1095 is just ridiculous ... they make some nice blades but I would not pay the money they are asking. The only time I have even gone over $300 on any blade is for something really special. My Tai-Pan in san mai III VG1 made in Japan. Or my Hattori fighter ...

Esee 6. No re-curve in blade, easier to field sharpen, unless you carry rods or oval sharpeners. No finger slot/choil in the handle. That "hump" in the handle of the Spartan is just not comfortable for me. RAT 7 w/kydex sheath is another option. Spartan is priced to high.

I'll say it again : Only reason I spent $330.00 on a Spartan Horkos was because was trying to give some business to Veteran owned Co. However, the knife itself made CPM S35VN Steel, handles scales traction micarta, the specs say the blade thickness is 3/16" believe me when I tell you NOT EVEN CLOSE.... The handle size, circumfrence set up to fit a 5 year olds hand, the sheath is a shit show 1/2 ballistic nylon, 1/2 some type molded plastic..... knife worth $ 120.00 tops...!!!! I could have bought 3 TOPS knives & had $$ leftover rather than buying Horkos..... I have NO idea how Spartan Blades is still in business
