Well... the fact that the elevator is running better can be due to: - either a KONE technician was in a very lucky day (or got called by the mall staff) and found out that the brake shoes were barely lifting, and loosened them up; - or the elevator managed to tear its brake pads enough for them to loosen up and allow the cab to move. Neither of the alternatives is a good sign, because it means the elevator ran in a questionably unsafe state for quite a bit. :|

Please don't talk about loosening brakes on a lift like that. The Ecodisk has two brakes, they are fail safe holding brakes. The VF drive controls the speed of the motor starting or stopping. Kone recommend a brake service every six months. They can be noisy when they drop onto the sheave, the disc, but as this is a tearless unit, if the brakes aren't holding then the lift could run away. In the up. Possibly killing you against the top of the landing door as you step out of the lift. I know how you like advance door opening in the USA too which could make it worse. Leave the brakes alone if you don't know what you are doing.

I Like this Elevator a lot, I live in Switzerland 🇨🇭 in a City called Biel in German and Bienne in French so Biel/Bienne and it has Like a Shopping Center With 3 Kone Monospace Glass Elevators and i recorded them one time i really Like them
