my kid left the door open all-night and it stop working because of ice build up. Ice can be an insulation that is what Eskimos use to build an igloo

if you leave the door with a small gap ,door alarm may not come on and ice build up will cause a malfunction. if you dont know how to work on the system you can unplug it and leave door open and ice build up will melt . you need to use turbo cooling to bring freezer to correct temp. There is a heating element that keeps the ice off the system . If heating element fails it produce the same result . The heating element will last around 5 years so if your system is iced up it could be because kids did not close the door all the way.

Make sure to dry the rotating wheels and track with paper towel or they will have ice build up and the door will have a difficult time closing due to ice on tracks. heating element to deice the system is good for 2 to 3 years . it is possible for older system to have a bad heating element which makes your system fail and ice up again in couple of days again .

I cant believe it door alarm was put on off and lower door was open all night. I had to tear it down again . make sure you check on door alarm. I am getting faster so i did it in 45minutes. used a shop vac to suck the water and a garden hose to defrost the ice. if you are not handy you can leave the freezer door open for 24hrs to get ride of ice build up .

Have the same refrigerator took all the drawers out to clean it… but now when I try to closes the freezer with top drawer the door won’t close properly - any recommendations?

something has fallen down under try .. look for a package under white drawers blocking the door if it did not work - take top tray out see if that is the problem

Mine is weird the fridge is cooling fine but the freezer isn't. I moved the sensor on the evaporator a little and it started cooling then stopped. So I replaced the sensor.. nothing Replaced the bi metal... nothing... What am I missing here

I don't know who knows more . If evaporator is iced up because defroster heater is burned up is a possibility .. I am sure this is not the case

update.. the metal rails must be dry since they will freeze and ice acts like sand. on and off switch on right hands side will not work if it is wet since it will freeze and stop moving and lights will not come on and off .

If too much fresh air enters the freezer area because seal was bad or door was open too long , freezer will ice up and stops working. Behind the fan there is a coil that may have ice on it. Make sure drain for coil located on center is cleared and clean. it is possible for you to unplug and deice without doing anything. Fan comes on when you plug the refrigerator in for few seconds on startup
