this is pretty much garbage. restoring defaults on all those stuff doesnt relly help on anything. i am currently using a brand new pc with ax370 gaming 3 mobo, audio drivers are updated realtek hd 6.0.8688 front audio jacks are correctly connected to the mobo, and STILL dont work nor recognize plugged stuff. so, since its not a hardware problem, i guess audio drivers are at fault. (the same thing happened on my previous pc and older drivers worked) but the problem is for windows 10 there is no "older driver" as win10 is new *facepalm* so nothing from this video does help at all and most people will run into this problem just like me.. If you know wich version of driver does work let me know.

Mine worked.., Audio jack was actually working but one earpiece is louder than other so setting is in advanced and then levels and make them equal if you having same problem,

For anyone who still can't fix the problem: what worker for me was googling the exact model of my motherboard + the word "drivers". You can then find loads of drivers which work with your motherboard, including this audio manager. I think the solution is that the version of realtek has to be compatable with the motherboard for it to work. Let me know if this helps.

TLDR; This is the fix for you if your internal speaker is working but your audio ports [speaker/microphone] doesn't work Goto control panel> Sound > Select Playback Tab. You should see a list of all the audio capable ports on your PC listed here (PS go to time stamp 1:46 of this video for reference) Your active/default speaker should have a green checkmark/ telephone sign on it. At this point if you have your speaker plugged in unplug it, one of the ports labled Speakers will disappear from the list of ports, if you plug you speaker back in that lable will appear again. Now plug in your speaker, left click on the new speaker lable that just appeared on your list and move to that drop down button named Set Default, Select the arrow pointing down part of that lable and choose the option Default Device. If your microphone doesn't work, go to the Sound application but this time select the Recording Tab and follow the instructions as for the previous fix. If you have followed my instructions correctly then your PC will transfer audio to your front port when your speakers are plugged in and if you unplug them audio will go back to your internal speaker automatically.

@Logan Murphy sorry that fix is specifically for cases where your pc already has audio but 1 or 2 of your audio ports don't work. The aim is to tell your windows operating system to also use a particupar port. If your port works with only 1 speaker and not the other I dont have a fix for that

@@daniyalahmed9505 if you are using windows 10, the icon that is supposed to show up is the speakers icon. The most important thing is that your computer recognizes when you plug in or unplug your audio device. If your computer recognizes the device then my fix will work for you

SOLUTION! Nr.2: For anyone that's experiencing this issue and nothing seems to work. Have you changed your startup programs recently??? I disabled a few unwanted programs to speed up my startup (in task manager) I unintentionally disabled the realteck audio driver aswel. This causes my headphones to be not detected. Double check your startup, if it's disabled, enable it again! This will fix the problem.

Just buy 3.5mm TRRS to TRS Adapter if all the methods didnt work then just buy the adaptor and use it in your audio jack connect it to your earphones it will work fine!

it cause bug by windows version1909 build 18363.657, i've tried all driver (oldest then newest) same issue after plug out jack audio. How to resolve ? First step ; ~ plug in your headset ~ Type "device manager" in taksbar search ~ Find Sound, Video and game controllers ~ Right click then Disable "Realtek Audio" ~ Restart your Laptop ~ Open device manager again (same way) ~ Turn back on Realtek Audio Horayy... your jack audio 3.5mm's back Yep that's bug is sucks, you must do it again (Disable ~ Restart ~ Enable) Second step ; ~ Don't use Wavemaxx Audio (For Dell Only) ~ Uninstall your Audio Driver (All brand works) ~ Restart your laptop ~ Just install audio driver via windows update Yep 3.5mm jack audio it's back, but you can't use wavemaxx audio equalizer or built in audio driver from your brand laptop/PC anymore :v *choose one suggest you must ask to microsoft windows or dell about this bug. edit : sometimes second step can't work, i suggest should use only the first step. Owhh... crap !

I had the same problem but i fixed it. Just go to the sound troubleshoot section and let them do the work. My side of problem was the audio drives were outdated. I hope this helps

My set up is the new way Windows 10 does it. So to find the "System Properties." Go to your settings page, click on the first option "System" scroll down to the last option. About, scroll to "Related settings, in blue below, click on "Advanced system settings". That is where you'll find the "System Properties" page showing at the 34 second mark of this video. what type of sound device were you using? Headphones, Speakers? just trying to narrow down the problem my Older PC case the rare and front Panle headphone Jacks, and 3.5 Linnes worked fine Untill I bought a New PCcase the be quiet pure base 500dx the front panel jack for headphones not working plus if I unplug the rare the Speakers (RealTek(R) Audio) disappear from were the sound Icon on the Task bar is at? usually there 3 options use the speakers, or U34G3GR3(NVIDIA High Definition Audio) which is simple the Monitors Speakers, and the RealTek Digital Output (RealTek(R) Audio which does nothing for me, but I cant upplug the rare 3.5 Headphone Jacks cus like I mentioned the Spearkers (realTek(R) Audio) ill vanish very strange, and when I try to jack in headphones in the front panles case I get no sound.

Your solution didn't work, but here's my solution: when I plug my headphones into the audio jack, the device doesn't show up because it doesn't need to. You just need to select the output to be the speakers of your laptop and the sound should then come out of the headphones plugged into the headphone jack. I wasted a good half-an-hour trying to figure this out when it was this simple. Microsoft should really make these things clearer.
