Hi. Implemented this and seems to have done the trick. However the volume of Unassigned traffic in GA4 has subsequently shot up. Do you know how i can resolve? Many thanks

I hear ya - This is essentially how a full implementation of customer events works, especially when considering referral traffic from other platforms like Facebook, TikTok, etc., in GA4. The best approach is this one: triangledigital.xyz/products/shopify-customer-events, where it utilizes customer events specifically for the checkout. Every other funnel step, along with customer events, is tracked in the theme.liquid file, which resolves all the tracking issues that arise from relying solely on customer events.

When I go to my website and right-click "Inspect", under the "page_viewed" event, I don't find "url". How can I find "url"?

Impossible, it is doubling pageviews and make problems with unassigned traffic

@@peXtrrr I've seen two page views in the network tab when I add Shopify page view, location, and page title to the GA4 page view event. However, when I follow the steps below to disable the default page view event, there only remains one. To disable the default page_view event: In Tag Manager, edit the Google tag that shouldn't send a pageview. Under Configuration settings, add the following parameter and value: Parameter: send_page_view Value: false This is from Google / Shopify documentation lol, I'm not making this up.

@@Alessandro-Colarossi Yeah that is okay. I meant when you add a Cookiebot it doubles pageviews and half of traffic is Unassigned.

Hi, thank you for your video. This kind of event involves only "page_view" event, but what about the other ecommerce events? I still see the sandbox url for add_cart, vie_cart_ events. I think I should create in GTM a page.location parameter for all ecommerce events.
