Good idea to insulate! My first thought was, "no insulation?" keeping your house warm in winter, cooler in summer, and quieter is huge! 😊

Exactly! =)

So impressed with Grant's workmanship. How lovely and bright your living room is with the windows and new insulation and drywall. You amaze me, just home from having your 3rd child and right into home renovations. Your parents are amazing and help as well.

That's a big project and even bigger with a new born, you're very brave. Really like the board and batten inside and out. Going the extra step to insulate will sure pay off later, will make such a difference and lower utility bill. Look forward to the finished room and seeing your personal touches.

It looks awesome! Grant and your Dad did a wonderful job with the window replacements! The living room looks beautiful even though it’s not totally finished. It’s great to have someone in the family that knows how to do these kind of renovations!

This was unusual timing that I watched this. I was stressed after the contractor left and my husband told me to just chill out and do something stress-free and behold, you uploaded a new ! You see, we had just hired out a project that had been a long time coming. Our back patio door was actually a set of double doors but one was a false door. I think that's the correct word because I just learned it haha well anyway, the wood was rotted on the outside so we had a patio door, a sliding glass patio door put in its place. But instead of having a husband named Grant to do the work, Home Depot got the job. I struggle so much with perfectionism when we hire these things out because it seems like they always mess something up and because of my ignorance and not knowing what the job entails we end up with something that we are less than happy with. Well, my easy-going husband is always usually pleased but I end up being frustrated. It's so hard to find talented people who know what they're doing. But I guess that goes with just about anything in life. I think the door was installed okay but we had a custom space and we didn't buy a custom size door so they had to build in Wood around it. Now we need to paint and we struggle with liking to do that, or do that well. It completely amazes me to see someone in this vocation do this with such ease. So I understand what you mean when you say it's incredible to see Grant do all of these things well. I want to be respectful and Trust who we hire but often I feel like the end result it's not as quality as it should have been. Please send Grant and his father our way so they can inspect and see if they did it right LOL I am working to have a good attitude and be thankful for the work being done and I know that you definitely are since you have complete trust in your contractor! That's awesome that he spent his vacation working! I'm thankful to have a husband who also has that work ethic. It just doesn't happen to be in construction (( Smiles))

I agree it can be so hard to find people that you trust to get the job done a certain way. When we first moved in here we hired a painter to paint the inside of our house so we could just move right in and he did such a terrible job and took way too long. It was a nightmare in that moment, but since then we have repainted a lot of walls. But I know what you mean =)
