He looked a bit underwhelm to me especially standing there with his hand in his pocket, then later his reactions seemed a bit fake. She looks so much more into him than the reverse. She did a great job with the makeover even though it does follow a kind of trendy formula (white walls, matching sofa color, neutral accents, etc) that is a bit unoriginal but the result is still beautiful.

In Christian’s defense, it must be really difficult to react spontaneously knowing your response will be posted on KZbin and seen by millions. Besides which: it’s been my experience that most men are generally not all that interested in home decor - just so long as it doesn’t break the bank, they don’t need to be careful around it, and they’re provided with a comfortable place to kick back on. In any event, the “shocked, amazed, thrilled” reaction is expected ...so you know. 😉He supported his loved one, which is what’s most important.

I'm actually a big fan of vertical blinds, and usually prefer them to curtains. I have to admit that I was really impressed with the Serena blinds. They looked really good. Hopefully they're available in my country. Overall, I was also extremely impressed with the living room. The finished version looked fantastic. Well done on being able to envision something, then bringing it to life so well.

Looks amazing! Spray the curtains with a mix of softener and water or toss them in the dryer with a dampened wool ball or wash cloth to get the wrinkles out before putting them up.

I just watched, and extremely enjoyed, this video. When it was over, I went down and sat in my living room and looked around. I noticed every single art piece on our walls has a memory or some sentimental value. We have photos of family on display on the fireplace mantel, even our coffee table reminds me a trip my wife and I took. After thinking over this video, I noticed there wasn't anything personal anywhere in your design. Even your gallery wall was impersonal, although very beautiful and inspiring. I love your work, and I must admit I haven't watched every video, yet! It would be nice if you did a video on how to incorporate family heirlooms such as old lamps, music boxes, family photos etc. into your wonderful design ideas. I'm looking forward to watching what you come up with!

I actually did looked into the shades/curtains but they are a little too pricey. For those of you looking for something similar, Home Depot has great ones and almost 80% cheaper plus for $120 you get 9 installed. I can’t wait to finish decorating my place. Thank you girly for all the inspiration 💓

Quick question…the room is gorgeous, but why do designers not include personal pictures?

Quick answer: they're not "aesthetic" and too personal for a designer to use in a professional setting (for example a youtube channel or blog, or setting up a customer's house, they'd leave that for the actual customer to do). The thing with professionals decorating houses is that they want the audience to imagine themselves living in that house, and seeing another person's family photos breaks the immersion. That and there's no accounting for personal taste, I personally REALLY don't like displaying family pictures, I just don't think it looks good (like an older person's home). To each their own I guess :)

I don't display family pictures in my main living spaces. I have two pictures, both are black and white and look like art. But it's a personal choice.

Don’t be nervous about a white sofa! I took a chance and bought one 6 years ago and it still looks good - even with a black cat that loves it as much as I do. I wash the cushion covers every spring and fall with NON-CHLORINE bleach (I use Ecover), and a little borax. I use fabric softener because I hang them to dry and don’t put them in the dryer. If toddlers or dogs come to visit I just throw a blanket over it. Your living room looks lovely and I’m obsessed with your drapery solutions for such a massive wall of windows. Great job!
