Does a hammer on take away a strum? If it’s D D DUDU and you hammer on after the first D, does that take the place of the second D or is it in addition?

It takes the place of a strum there

@@samroque9864 Depends on what you are playing and the song, but on those I would do the hammer then continue with the pattern and not take any strums out.
