She turned out beautifully. It's so satisfying to see a doll get all fixed up and made gorgeous again. The cross on the wrist reminded of Egyptian Coptic Christians - they have a custom of getting a cross tattooed on the right wrist (dating back to the time of the Muslim invasion 1500 years ago). Anyway, that's what I thought of.

Why was a cross creepy? There’s legit nothing creepy about a cross.

It’s creepy for a couple of reasons. 1.) Like other people have pointed out in the comments, Rebecca is Jewish, not Catholic or Christian, so why does she have a cross on her arm. 2.) I believe in ghosts and haunted things, and crosses are often used as protection from evil. It creeped me out that she had a cross on her because it made wonder if she is haunted. We all know the stereotype about dolls being creepy and haunted, so with her being from a thrift store (where a lot of haunted dolls come from) it creeped me out that she had a cross too.
