Good job double D... if u have starter issues moving forward.. always 1st load test batts. Then 2nd ...test and see what your batt voltage is at the starter while it's being cranked over... if voltage remains the same at battery then u have a starter issue. If voltage at starter drops significantly...U have a bad ground or ie. Corrosion. Or open wire... or bad positive feed to starter... keep up the good videos..

To tighten the belts, you have to free up that fan housing, then adjust with adjuster bolt

You have to loosen the three bolts in the middle to tighten those belts I have an N14 in a 2574 and it’s the same way kind of a pain

I'm thinking because you have to run a new wire to the starter for it to crank, and having problems with the indicator light I think your problems came from letting the starter drop probably shorted out the wire, by pulling on it. And for the indicating light probably came out of the zip tie, I would highly recommend be careful that you don't drop the starter I think that's where the other two problems came from but I could be wrong I am a human being to :-) good job Dave

Battery’s should be at 12.6 it’s 2.1 volts per cell, 6 cells. 13.8/14 is when the alternator is charging

Wasn't that white wire the trigger for the starter u had danglin????

That white wire was the old ground wire that went to the solenoid on the old starter. The new starter comes with all the grounds hooked up.

Seen a couple of vids with thee engines starting struggling to turn the engine over - even with brand new batteries. There are 2 fixes. Instead of 3 batteries, wire up another, to make 4. There is a replacement lower geared starter motor that CAN turn the engine over on 3 batteries. I cant remember what its called. But in the first instance make sure your batteries are good and check all the wiring and earths. The problems with sluggish starting is very common with these trucks.

39mt is the new style gear reduction starter, this is what he put in. His old starter looked like a 42mt, which is a direct drive starter

Yes u need to back them off just a hair then ajust with adjustment screw and retighten bolts

Clean all bolts on wire wheel and use anti seize always on every thing you will thank yourself in three years.

LOL isn't wiring fun in International trucks......... NOT. The company I worked for had an old 2674 like you've got it was a pain in the ass. That truck is got to be loud with a side exit exhaust and N14 🥴
