Thank you for the video ! I opened my external drive yesterday, and I had the same problem, but I didn't have a replacement adaptor. So I took the decision to put the drive in my pc instead of purchasing another adaptor that will probably fail some times later ! According of what I observed, this adaptor is by far the weakest piece of those Seagate external drives ...

Good day I hope you can help me. I have an seagate 4TB hard drive that has always been working but now it's not picking up on my driver's and computer but the hard drive is getting power.. I was wondering could it be the adapter that goes into the hard drive that works with the normal hard drive cable and not the SATA cables. Could it be that adopter that is causing the data to not come through onto the computer so that I will be able to access my storage PLEASE HELP I HAVE A LOT OF IMPORTANT STUFF ON THERE LIKE SOFTWARES AND DOCUMENTS 😞

Hi, What to do if the LED is on but the drive is not recognizing on any desktop or laptop? Sometimes, if it does show up, the drive shows up as and unidentified/unknown USB but I can't seem to access it in the windows explorer or disk management. Any suggestions?

Hey I was wondering if you could help me out. Idk if it's an Xbox thing or my hard drive. I got the Seagate Xbox 4tb hard drive. It used to work before. I will say 5 years ago. When I was using it on my Xbox one. Now that I have an Xbox series x. I connect it, it does turn on everything but the Xbox is not detecting it. But when I plug It on my computer it does. I had looked up online and many people have been having the same issue. What I found online says it's corrupted but doesn't say how to uncorrupted

you have to format it on your pc , then plug it back into the xbox then the xbox will detect it

Before I give it a go, I do have a question on tab about this. I have a 4TB Seagate drive and a 8TB Seagate drive, both are external HDDs (and the 8 being a bulky one) and they are acting up. My 8TB one is less than a year old and it's not working. I also have the 4TB one which was in use for quite a long time suddenly had just stopped working entirely, which is my problem now. Can finding out if it needing an adapter part bring something back that lasted 5+ years?

I'm in the same boat. The drive doesn't work on either my Xbox or my computer, and as much as I hate to open it, I'm out of options. I've got a terabyte of game data on this thing! It'll take forever to download it all over again!

@@cj0915 I took the old drive out of its enclosure and put it in a different one. That seems to have done the trick. Your mileage may vary, though.

Hi there! I have 2 pcs of external hard disk with the same brand and same model. Suddenly one of it is not detected and i noticed the light is there when I insert it into the port but the light is not as bright as the other model that work just fine. I know this case is not similar with your video where the light is totally dead, but could this method fix it?

If you have a donor PCB, you can try swapping it and see if the drive will function properly.
