My problem has not gone away. My solution works well and was simple to do. If you just bought your Samsung refrigerator, I recommend calling for them to send someone out to try to fix it. I did that, but they couldn't fix it. If you can't get it fixed quickly, I recommend returning the refrigerator. Or, try my solution, which I'm satisfied with, although I would not buy another Samsung refrigerator because of this. I would expect them to have smart enough engineers/designers to do be able to avoid this problem or at least provide a drip tray to catch the drip.

We had a similar problem with an older Samsung french door refrigerator. Our problem was the water line was cracked at the upper hinge and was non-replaceable because the line is bonded in the door. I bought some tubing and ran a new line on the outside of the door. Works great, no drips.

I found a solution. I have the same exact fridge, same exact problem. The water tube has a connector in the door upper hinge (in case you need to remove the door). And in my case one ''cap'' wasnt clicked at its place. If air goes in the connector, at the water from there to the end will slowly empty itself. So if both your caps on well clicked, i suggest you analyse to see where air can go in (damaged cap, damaged tube, i dont know). Or any other solution to seal that connector air tight. Mine was always dripping after used, for only some minutes, more at first, almost nothing at last, and it feel the equivalent of 2 feet of tube emptied would seem like that in amount of water so i really feel the problem is in that connector. Good luck !

The solution to this problem is in the waterline installation. The installers left a slanted tip in the tube and this needs to be a straight cut so there is no air getting into the waterline. Problem solved. Use a box cutter over a cutting board.

This is either an over-pressure condition (turn the valve “down” slightly on the water supply to the fridge) or a bad 2-way water valve solenoid. Mine “snaps” shut and no drips!

I'm thinking calcium buildup on the valve seat from hard water. Now if there was only a way to flush it with vinegar.

Call Samsung if you just bought it. They have a warranty. They replaced the icemaker finally in mine. Samsung's repair folks who replaced the icemaker said there was a design improvement in the icemaker that should fix the drip. Several weeks have passed and we've noticed improvement now. I believe the quality of products of all types has really gone down. One appliance repairman said the appliances are built to last only about 8 years now. He said the days of a refrigerator lasting 15-20 years are gone because of profits. He said that was one reason Sears was losing a lot of money, because their products lasted too long!

Ours does the same thing. It also dispenses some water each time we get ice. Just found out that samsung lost a class action regarding the ice maker. I am going to check into it and recommend you do the same. Hoping they will fix it free.

I have the same Samsung refrigerator for about 6 months. It just started leaking about 3 weeks ago. I checked the connections and then removed the filter and ran 1/2 gallon of water & then replaced it and ran another 1/2 gallon through there without a problem. This was done 72 hours ago...so far not 1 drip with using the water or the ice. If it returns. I'm planning on turning down the water inlet valve to see if that fixes it. BTW Lowes has a 4 day return limit. After that time you have to talk to Samsung about warranty work. We still like our Samsung dishwasher and washer & dryer.

Sorry, but that is not a fix. Ridiculous that Samsung cannot figure this out. I just plugged in my Samsung refrigerator and experienced the same issue. Water flowed nicely but several seconds after dispensing the water it would drip. I took the filter out and dispensed several cups of water with the filter out and resolved the issue. I'm guessing air gets in the water lines and puts pressure on the system.

exactly, and it happens int the door upper hinge. Mine had a cap the wasnt clicked. Or any damage where air can go in would be the problem.

here's what i did to fix my brand new leaking water dispenser: i took the little plastic part off the top of the fridge as though i was going to take off the doors. this also revealed the water hose and its connector between the blue hose that comes up from the filter and the white hose that goes down into the door to the dispenser. i disconnected and reconnected both hoses. problem solved. i don't know if this fix will work for you or if this fix will last. if the leak comes back, i will update my comment here.

Hey guys, just got a different model with the exact same type of ice and water dispenser and SAME PROBLEM. I read the possible fixes to problems and they said if there is a water drip, check the connections. Well, I checked the connections and there was an all so slight leak. I ensured I had the suggested water hose, because I read at the Lowes site, they said if you didn't use the suggested hose type, it would void the warranty. I tighten the connection that the Lowes guy did earlier when he dropped off the unit. The drip is just so slight now but frigging annoying. I think Samsung probably has a terrible design and if there is the slightest amount of air entering the system, the valve doesn't close correctly as evident by their things to check if there are problems. I would check all connections and make user you don't see any leaks. Got to wonder if you may have some type of leak in the internals too. Seems like a good tech could pressure check the system. Maybe they missed the easy stuff and not looked at where they were tied into the water system. I think the valve design is terrible. Water flow should be either be off or on. There should be no water leakage. I may just tell Lowes to come and pick their new wonderful unit up and give my money back. Hope you all figure this out. You may want to check this link out too. I drained at least a gallon of water and not seen any drips after 30 mins and getting another cup of water. Maybe this is like bleeding breaks...OMG. Might have been the final solution. I just got a Samsung installed today. Same water dispenser features just different dual door model. Having same issue less than 2 hours after install. Called Home Depot but Connected me to Samsung. Model in back order so have to wait for a tech to come look at it. After seeing this post and comments this is sounding like know issue for them. I hope they fix it or might have to find a different name brand to exchange it with.

@@potterfreak1130 Make sure you have the suggested water line, don't use the old copper one if you had one and make sure the line is absolutely air tight. Bleed a gallon of water out. Totally solved my issue. I notice a very slight hint of water if I left the water side on verses ice. I only use the ice side anyway. I DREADED having them bring another one. The deliver guys just open both doors up and brought the thing in through my sliding glass door. The doors should have been removed. Plus they told me all these fridges come level when I asked them to level. I knew that was bs. Called Lowes and told them. They at least gave me $50 credit. I wish luck with this thing. So far NOW I am happy.

I had a similar issue with my Frigidaire. Water would leak out when door was opened. I checked the water line at the top of the door (where hinge is covered) and there is a small crack allowing air to get in.

I have a four month old Samsung refrigerator with the exact same issue. It got progressively worse from day 1. Same issue, outside of return window. Love the fridge except for the constantly wet drip tray. Called Samsung and a tech will come for in-home service. I wonder if there is a solenoid issue that prevents the water to shut off effectively. Thank you.

brilliant, i just folded a piece of paper towel and put it there, serve the same purpose i guess. after a top of the line dishwasher broke on us after 6 month of normal use and another 6 month to repair, and now the fridge, all i can say is when come to appliances, run away as fast as possible from Samsung, to make it better, their customer service is just as bad as their products. run!

Mine started dripping really slow after filter change routine.Drained lots of water after until stream was steady but the drip didnt go away.Next step, I removed the filter and started draining again without the filter for a few gallons then pit the filter back and drained few more gallons.It is still dripping really slow after a few minutes of dispensing a cup of water.I left it alone after 24 hours and still saw a very slow frequency of drip.There might still be an air trap somewhere in the system but this is annoying.For a fridge worth more than 3k bucks to let a trap air everytime you change filter gives inconvenience for costumers is just not acceptable.Now Im hesitant to change the filter again if the drip goes away.How come they didnt install a shut off valave or something after the filter to get rid of the drip when its not dispensing water

Yes, folding a paper towel and cutting it to fit is a great idea. I think I'm going to avoid Samsung products. When you pay a lot for a refrigerator, you should get one from a company that cares enough to design one without such obvious and irritating flaws. If that's the way they make things, with that type of attitude, you get wary.

Cutting a very small V shape into the end of the water fill tube will eliminate the issue It helps push all of the water out of the tube.
