I had an issue with the headliner of my 2009 F150 that was leaking. I had done a lot of research and everyone was saying that it must be a disconnected drain tube. I fixed the leak and it was NOT a drain-tube issue!

Thanks for the video man! I have a 2006 Ford F150 king ranch and had the same problem! You saved me over $1000. Thanks again.

I'm getting my 2004 Volvo XC70 lifted in June. I think towards the middle of June. Going to do it myself. Got new shocks and saving up for the springs. Getting it repainted to either OD Green or Desert. I think the OD Green will look really cool on it. This will be my SHTF/Hunting rig.

@@TheBeginningHunter I totally agree. I am by no means of a mechanic. I have learned a lot on youtube without going collage lol.

I've sealed several spots w/ Silicon seeing water damage in the 4 corners of my upholstery, namely at/around the windshield, around the screws on the roof, & on top of my new third brake light (I started seeing water leaking in behind the OEM brake light and had it replaced). Wasn't seeing any water leaks since replacing the third brake light, other then a few spats of water around the rear cab sliding window (Only when going through the car wash & under high air pressure drying). Woke up this morning after a good rain shower and noticed new dripping coming from the front passenger side grab handle. I'm guessing this is related to the Drain Tube? Is anyone able to confirm this? The water leaks seem endless. You fix one and two more take its place lol

Ok so we’re going on close to a year, what’s your long term outlook on this? I’m having the same issue on my dad’s truck and can’t figure out for the life of me how water is getting over to that section of the sunroof. I watched a video where the guy pulls out the entire sunroof assembly to fix it, just so I could see what the inside of the sunroof looks like there. It looks like a solid metal barrier between the drain track and the sliding track. I’ve seen the other posts about you putting caulk over that moving part and I too am curious if your sunroof still functions properly having done that?
@TheBeginningHunter3 жыл бұрын
Still no issues! I have not had any water dripping since I fixed it and recorded this video. Super happy that I decided to do it and again, no issues at all!

can you post a link to the caulk you used ?

My 2019 F150 sunroof only leaked during hard rains. sometimes it came out of the grip handles other times out of the overhead control assembly. Tried many times to have it fixed with no results. I never use the sunroof and didn't want it but I bought the truck used with 9000 miles and had no choice. I finally went to a custom wrap place and had a wrap put on to cover the whole sunroof. Problem solved.... has never leaked again.

How did you get under the headliner without tearing it up?
@TheBeginningHunter2 жыл бұрын
Had to take off a few parts and be really careful to not bend the liner. Took a while to do, but I was happy with the end result in that I didn’t screw anything up 😅

where do your rear drains exit? I see no holes or exit drain tubes under the truck. worse yet, when I put water in the drain tube it runs down into the body but doesn't leak out to the ground.
@TheBeginningHunter3 жыл бұрын
My rear drain tubes drain behind my back doors. It’s hard to tell exactly where the water comes out but that’s where the water exits. You might have a blocked tube which would make sense that when you pour water back there the water does not actually drain.
@halleffect13 жыл бұрын
@@TheBeginningHunter i poured way too much water for the tube to be blocked. did see a very slight drip at a seam weld underneath. i think the drain lines at some point were pulled up and out of the channel they are supposed to be. i'm trying to get them back in position but they don't want to cooperate

So is there any fix for this issue?
@halleffect12 жыл бұрын
@@dustindeville5066 i replaced the sunroof seal, the one that goes around the "moonroof" glass panel. $120 later, it doesn't leak. the old seal had shrunk and was letting too much rain water in.

Sure wish you hadn't put sealer in that location. That's the cable that moves the guides back and forth. That's a moving part you just sealed. It should NEVER have water there. Only if the drains are stopped up can water get in that, and then they need to be cleared and flushed. I hope it doesn't cause you a problem later.
@TheBeginningHunter3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. When I looked into this the drains were not plugged, and that was the first thing that I checked. Initially, I thought the drains must be plugged because it was creating a back up but upon further inspection the drains were clear and they were still attached. The only logical thing I could determine is that for whatever reason water was pooling up in the spots and they were draining over and dripping into my cab. I haven’t had any issues though, and I live here in Oregon so we get a ton of rain!

@@46marsh I've hardly ever seen that problem, honestly and there are very few who see as many leaks as I do, particularly on Fords.
