Got the mower out today for the first cut of the year and had a flat tire and then it popped off the rim. What's a girl to do?

Thanks this really helped me. If the tire has been flat for a while and has a permanent flat spot just soak it in hot water for 10 to 20 minutes (or just warm it up) then squeeze the sides right next to the flat spot A ratchet strap works great for this!

Kudos Chiquita! You definitely went thru more than I had to to raise the tire off the ground, I did use my car jack as soon as my son finished his much more important bs and returned home with my car. I just knew this could be done simple without having to take the tire off run 18 miles to the nearest tire repair and pay $10 or $15 . Can not thank you enough for being here for me to find you so easy. You saved me so much time and money that I didn't have to spare.. Much gratitude, sister! Muah!!

Thank you so much. Your video clearly articulated what the problem was. I never thought I would b able to do this without a Jack or boards to make a lever. Because I understand the concept after this video, I only purchased rope and used the wrench to tighten It. Then I used a bicycle tire pump for air because it was all I had. Amazingly, I am back on the road, now. This video was so amazing that I had to make a comment to let people know that this truly worked. This is my first comment to a video ever in hopes to show others that you should always try repairing something yourself before seeking out others. The video has also emphasized the importance of regularly checking me air n the riding mower tires. All of my tires were low in air And I had kit realized this prior to this video.

I LOVE this tip and video! I am a 63 year old lady and had this problem this morning. I thought I was YouTubing a video on how to remove the wheel so I could take it to a tire shop. After watching this, I thought I would try it first. It took me longer to find a rope than to follow the process. I was amazed and so thankful I didn’t have to waste my morning trying to find a tire shop. I mowed my 3 + acres with no problem. Thank you for saving the day!

Just wanted to give you a huge thank-you for this great tip. I tried it with a thin rope, which broke when I tightened it using the wrench. Luckily I found a heavier rope and tried it. At first it didn't work because my mower tire was so out of shape from sitting all winter being flat. I really has to turn the wrench quite a few times so the middle of the tread was really squished inward in order to force the tire to push out to form a seal around the rim so it would take air. Once it started holding a lot of air, I slowly allowed the wrench to loosen the rope. Saved me a bunch of money, and being the independent cuss I like to be, made me feel good that I didn't have to run to some man and bat my eyelashes and feign helplessness. Thanks! We girls gotta stick together. ( :

+Valli Logan That is great! I know what you mean about not wanting to run to a man to fix every problem. I was so happy when I made this work even if I did call my man to see what I had to do. Thanks for sharing your story. :)

Superb. I have a massive snowblower where the tire bead separated from the wheel. I was investigating using lighter fluid and a bunch of different actions that seemed very dangerous to me. I used your simple method and just jacked up the blower on 3 2*4's tied some rope around it and twisted the rope using a wrench, pumped air into it and, voila, I was back in business. Didn't even have to remove the wheels from the snow blower. Saved me a lot of effort and money. Thank you.

Michelle, your video was the first that I came across today and it assisted me, thank you, moreover I found something to add that helped tremendously! So now I'll post what I've posted on some other videos that gave me ideas with my solution that I found that worked today: Thanks for sharing the video. This prompted me to try something to get my lawnmower tire back on the bead. I tied the tire with rope, all the way around the tread, and used a wrench to twist for extra tension. Now, here is where things got interesting...I thought that the rope with the tension from the twisted wrench would do the trick...it didn't, so I got a spray bottle and put some really soapy water in it, then sprayed "both sides" of the tire where it meets the bead and slightly pushed the tire toward the inside of the tire while pumping the air into the tire. IT WORKED! After trying for an hour doing everything else, the soapy water with the tire tie worked! I was happy to say the least. Saved money and did it myself. So try this technique as well guys. Oh, btw, I only have a foot pedal air pump and cranked that sucker with my hand while slightly pushing that tire until it got a seal. If it works, it works. Worth a try. I'll be sharing this on a few other videos I pulled up. Hope this helps.
