Definitely Parkside from LIDL as that's the old logo. They used to be red, then blue, now green. I had a red sds from the early 2000's. Only stopped working about 3 years ago but I abused the hell out of it for about 18 years. Also have a red bench grinder which I use almost daily and still going strong. I've got loads of the newer parkside stuff and can't fault it. The one or two times I did have issues I had no problem getting parts from the manufacturer at the time. Recently got the performance range 1/2 inch impact wrench from Germany and super impressed. Same specs as the milwaukee (1898nm) for €149 with a 5 year warranty

This is an exclelent tool apart from the fault you identified. It's actually the plactic switch actuator linkage that is at fault however you either need to reinforce it so that it doesn't bend or you can bypass the switch by just putting an inline switch in the rubber power cable.

Sometimes there are some basic replacement parts available for Parkside tools here in Germany. But only for newer tools 2008 and up. Mostly carbon brushes and switches, but that's it. The quality also varies a LOT depending on the tool and supplier. Some are pretty decent compared to other cheap brands. For cheap tools that I might want to fix I still go for Einhell tools, they tend to sell more parts.
@josephking65159 ай бұрын
Do Einhell have parts available for most of their tools? In Oztralia they purchased the Ozito brand name and now they all come out of the same factory in China. Parts for them here cost so much it's cheaper to buy a new tool and get a 5 year warranty on the 18v stuff. I hate losing something for the want of a $0.50 cent part.
@T0a5tbr0t9 ай бұрын
@@josephking6515I guess it depends a lot on the region you are in. Here in germany you can get parts for a ok price since there is a local subsidiary dedicated to it. The selection of parts I can get for Einhell isn't as good as with bigger brands like Bosch, Makita, Metabo and so on, but they do at least make an effort to sell some and provide explosion drawings.

It's surprising how well built some of these cheap tools are, for DIY or occasional use they are perfectly good. Personally, I prefer to have parts available, so I've often brought Makita or Bosch second hand, instead of a new cheap machine. Milwaukee is a joke, because you pay top dollar, and really you are no better off for repairs, than with a cheap tool like this Parkside. For me, since there is often not too much difference in build quality these days, it's mostly the lifetime parts support you are paying extra for, when you go with a big brand.

@1pcfred9 ай бұрын
I just watched a video of a guy that fixed a tool that was sparking excessively. He took the armature out of the motor and tested for continuity between the commutator bars and when he found adjacent bars that rang out he'd clean between them. They'd gone short from brush debris I guess? Anyhow after he cleaned everything up it ran better. You're always going to get some sparking. But with a crapped up commutator you get a lot.

I would have used some contact cleaner on the switch, then maybe some epoxy glue to add a dab of glue on the lever to add a few mm to press the swirzh further and see if that worked to save some money. Guess when it's a business, it nkt worth it.
@deandohertygreaser9 ай бұрын
Yes that might work, but for a repair shop its not worth the risk. It will work but for how long, the customer is paying me to fix, so i cannot risk the customer coming back again in a few weeks with the same problem. That would cost the customer more money, plus it would not look good on me. So its better to fix it right the first time.

Guess what, they were all useless crap. Obviously the battery ones were all dead but the 220V ones were also the lowest of the low. I had a similar switch problem on a leaf blower, the end of the lever had disintegrated, the machine was new and unused. I hate parkside with a passion, even though im DIY, I like proper tools.
