Thanks for the video ... I have the exact same car and the same exact problem happened saved me a lot of time and money. Thanks again.

There shouldn't be oil in your spark plug wells. This means the valve cover gaskets around the wells has failed. Changing the spark plugs will remedy the issue temporarily until they become contaminated with oil again. Fix the sealant first, then new plugs and or coils if found bad.

If you have oil on the spark plugs, isnt that indicating that the cylinder wall or piston ring has given away causing oil to mix into the combustion chamber? I am by no means a mechanic so I could be wrong. Curious to know if this is still running properly.
@daveraymond22654 жыл бұрын
Yes, running perfectly! The oil was not in the cylinder. The spark plug was wet with oil on the outside. I think oil was seeping into the spark plug tube from the valve cover gasket. The new spark plug spun in very easy so I believe the plug threads are clean. Maybe one day when I am under the hood again I will pull that plug out to see how easy or difficult it might be. The engine has been running beautifully. I change the oil when it asks, I think every seven thousand miles, and add just one quart between oil changes.

Nice job on the repair , but come on you did not address the oil leak from the spark plug tube gasket ? Your just going to keep the leak to continue to flood the tube ..! Also the permanent code was I believe cause you went directly to EOBD which is generic , instead of going to the car menu and following thru that way.. OBD11

Hey, thanks for the video - how do you like your scanner tool? Would you happen to know if it's able to retract EPB for changing out brake pads? I have the same car same year, and would love to know - thanks in advance!

I believe it can although I have not tried that yet. I do have a video showing how to retract rear pads with EPB kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmKXp6yXacSnlZI

Did your P03020 come back after driving the Audi? I'm chasing the same issue down on my wife's Q5 3.2. Codes clear until I drive it. Same appearance of oil only in cylinder 2.
@daveraymond22652 жыл бұрын
The Q5 has 170,000 miles on it now with no codes returning. I should have addressed the oil I’m pretty certain it’s the valve cover seal for the spark plug tube that’s leaking

Did you replace the spark plugs?
@paulvanberkel90962 жыл бұрын
@@daveraymond2265 Yes. Yesterday I replaced all 6 spark plugs and ignition coils. I can clear the code. It idles beautifully. It revs (while in park) much better than before. But as soon as I ride away, the code and engine light comes back on and the mis-fire reoccurs.

@@paulvanberkel9096 im having same issue. I did valve cover gasket, new spark plugs and coil. Idle smooth but driving it smoothly and as soon as i hit yhe gas a bit hard EPC light turns on and misfire cylinder 5
@agavechiropractic83202 жыл бұрын
@@GSXRIDER09 same here. I'm starting to think that I have a fuel rail problem. I have a scanner and it was behaving weird when looking at fuel system live data. I'll keep you informed once I figure it out.

You should have used anti-seize on the plug threads and a torque wrench to tighten the plugs.
