Fixing a puncture in the awning

We had a similar issue with the Vango Air-beam tent we had prior to purchasing our Caravan. I contacted the original reseller we got it from in Truro, to report the issue, as we had only used the tent on one occasion in the 11 months we had owned it. He contacted Vango and they immediately sent out a replacement. It arrived within 2 days and was simple enough to fit. I was very impressed with the level of support and service from Vango.

Had a preowned Bradcot awning. Second time up it leaked. Was still a few weeks on the warranty so set it back to Bradcot who replaced the bladder. Now! The zips on the bladder holders were sealed and if we had removed any it would have voided the warranty. Now no longer under warranty so can repair ourselves. Thanks for posting video.

We have a Vango Kalari Airbeam 420. It has 4 main beams. We have had a puncture nearly every time we have used it in one or more beams. It is very annoying when you have limited time on holiday. The leaks are at the heat sealed ends like yours which makes it very difficult to seal with patches. The patches also take time to harden normally 24 hours which means a day with deflated tubes. We have purchased a heat sealer to see if that works. Fingers crossed 🤞. Update:- Impulse Heat Sealer works a treat. Fixed 5 beams in a short time pumped them up and all good 👍 Heat sealer was £27.98

I have exact same awning, we have never managed to get away with out it bursting on them end pop out bits

Hi Did you ever resolve the issue ? we have the same awning and had the same issue whilst on holiday in Cornwall. We bought two new inner tubes and the same happened again all on the seams . We got in touch with Vango and they sent us one out but due to covid we have yet to try it out .

We also had a new one sent out by vango, but like you, due to covid it’s not been used since and is still wrapped up.

@@TheMillards22 We tried out our third inner tube over the weekend. It stayed up but , we will have to see if it does the job when we can go away again. I'll keep you posted !

We have a kamper motorhome awning it's 4 years old now never had a problem with it .I would take that back you haven't had it long .good luck

We have a vango awning and we have the same issue on exactly the same part of the inner tube, we have had around 4 replacement tubes and it keeps doing the same thing every couple of times using the awning, very frustrating. Only way we have resolved it is when we got the new inner tube we fold the end over a couple of inches and tape them down to stop them opening all the way up and we havnt had any more problems with it. Seem to be a common problem with new vango awnings weak seam on the tubes.

Hi both ..we had the same problem with the same awning while we were on holiday in cornwall..we got in contact with the dealer where we bought it from and thet shipped a new bladder to the site where we were staying ...result Derek

Unlucky I guess we have a Sunncamp which stood up to the storm with no name in August 2019.Hope to see an update at some point.

Good video. Would be tempted to use some glue as because is over the seem when it’s blown up Will pull that patch off. Would say some glue then cut patch. We had issues with our sunncamp they sent wrong replacement tube 3 times to a site where it originally got delivered to.

I'd be very careful on what type of glue is used. Super glue is known to melt some types of plastic

Check the intake valve on the awning sometimes the non return valve works loose.

A hole on the seem you’ll struggle to fix... I’d expect a new beam under warranty... hope you got it sorted

Oh no!! I hope you find the problem. I had a problem with mine I hadn't tightened up one of the caps properly it was cross threaded.

We have just bought the exact same awning, it's never been up as we got it just before the lock down. When it's OK is it a good awning please?

Gees some people way overreact, absolutely no need to return the awning for a refund. These things happen all the time with air awnings, problem is any repair will unlikely last particularly if it’s a seam, the warranty will cover this though, I’m sure you’ve already done it but I’d just send an email to your dealer asking for a replacement inner tube and I’m sure they will happily replace it when they open again, hope you’ve had a lovely Easter and staying safe x

The best way to avoid punchers is to not buy a vango , the seams leak there coustmer service is terrible they want you to call them on a premium rate number which costs a packet terrible company with a terrible product in my opinion and I would never have another one.

Same awning same story left and right hand tubes now replaced at a cost of 140 quid, seam split last year repaired under warranty thankfully. Awning will be on eBay soon very disappointing £1350 Vango Riviera awning less than 3 yr old . I hear what people say these things happen but not happy it’s obviously a design fault 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hi did you say it’s only 4 months old? I’d be tempted to put it back in the bag, back to the retailer show them the video and ask for my money back please. Very disappointing. Only saving grace is it’s happened on a “ staycation”
