Fixing A Speed Queen Electric Dryer That Is Not Heating!

electric dryers need very good airflow, i always check airflow with my airflow checker. while disassembled, i check or replace glides, rollers,tension pulley, belt as its sold as a kit for maybe 15-20 dollars. i love speedqueen but hate this dryer as the sides are floppy and could bend. and yes complete thumbs up for a speed queen commercial top load washer. your exp is obvious and thanks for putting yourself out there in this channel, certainly will help others.

Great video! Thank you! I followed your instructions. No continuity confirmed that my Speed Queen's heating element was the reason it no longer heated. NOTE: I was able to do all continuity tests and replace the heating element by removing only the lower panel, avoiding the hassle of removing the front panel and drum.

I have a Speed Queen dryer that is providing intermittent heat. It can go a dozen cycles with heat followed by a dozen without any. It has been doing this for a long time. Haven't found any videos addressing this. Wire connections below look all clean and tight.

Seeing your right there, why not change the fuse and the thermostat when changing the heating element

I have a commercial heavy duty one that has a push button board instead of selector knobs. It’s throwing a “Er” “n5” code on the little screen that usually has time left on a dry cycle. Supposedly Er n5 means : relay on the motor output is fused. Need to replace the motor board. Unsure what that means. Another place said n5 has to do with the heating element?…. Any ideas?

It’s your start/selecter switch mine wasn’t heating and all that was good And I noticed if I tapped on start knob the element fired

My control panel seems to be causing problems along with these other related symptoms (bad temp sensing, hit or miss clothes either still wet or absurdly hot, gets stuck on 6 minutes and just infinitely drys. )

Seems like multiple contacts in the timer are fused together or burnt out. I would replace the timer
