It's such a great feeling when you know you've fixed the problem. Good stuff.

Every time I see your Kraftwerk cabinet top I have "The Model" and "Autobahn" run through my head. 😁 Gotta love modern engine bays where you have to disassemble half of it to get something out. Or not....

Well done, Adam! But the sound of a diesel Jag breaks out of frames.

A diesel is perfect for what I’m using this car for. But yes I do prefer gas engines. Anything is better than an EV though
@jaguarrroman Жыл бұрын
@@LivingWithAClassic I just meant its a bit amusing. By the way, gas X-type acceleration reminds me of an EV with its engine calmness and the whining alternator. And you know, the next generation XJ is announced to be an EV only. As for me, I am interested with their vision - how Jag engineers implement different powertrains (gas, diesel, EV) in their vehicles.

Great job! Adam has been unlucky with the brake booster, as it is quite rare for it to break.

Viewing this from the US, can anyone explain the reasoning behind the locking tow hook? Is it only so that no one steals your trailer when attached? Why is that a MOT factor? That should be a personal choice if you want to ensure no one steals it, not the government's decision....Thanks
@LivingWithAClassic Жыл бұрын
No it’s not to steal with the trailer attached, it’s to not tamper with it. You can’t get the tow bar off when a trailer is attached. But if someone messes with the lock and you don’t notice, you could connect a trailer that will fall off. So does not have to do with stealing it, just traffic safety

So the headlights of the X-Type don't move down and up again every time you turn them on? I once had a Mercedes with Xenon headlights which did so and that was a very simple check every time you entered the car. Now I also have an X-Type Estate as an addition to my collection of classic cars and it never fails the MOT because of the headlights, but I still do not know if they go up or down at all. :)

Hello Adam, sorry for this question : it seems it is a diesel. Its the lion V6 from ford.
@LivingWithAClassic Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s a 2.2 liter Ford Duratorque diesel engine, not a V6, 4 cylinder

It’s best to start reading codes and go from there. No point in just throwing parts at it
