Fixing Batman: Dark Tomorrow

Batman: Dark Tomorrow is infamously know as one of the Dark Knights worst games. But when I decided to try the game for myself, I found that it showed some potential. Here I discuss how with a few tweaks, this game could've been fared a bit better.

Rocksteady took quite a bit from this game (Which I realised when Arkham Asylum came out) but made it all functional and fun. The developers of this game had to scale it down because of time and budget constraints because it was initially meant to be more open. What could've been, at least we got the Arkham series

Yeah I'd be down for a more stealth based, detective Batman, with very little combat, or the final fight ends with you winning because of the things you've done along the way ending in Batman being an actual genius outsmarting the villain, instead of just being a crazy guy who punches people dressed as bat!!!!

I know what can fix it! Actually having Batman mentioning Robin and Batwoman, giving non-boss enemies 100 health, giving a Tutorial to the final boss :)

If there's one thing about arkham games I don't like is how automated dull the grapple is and it's always the same motion . I'd love to do something like swing on rooftops with the cape extended out like he's shown to do in lots of artwork and media

If this game was never made, Rocksteady would have never had the foundation to create the Arkham series because literally the plot of Arkhamn City was literally Dark Tomorrow and fighting all Batman's rogues gallery is also from Dark Tomorrow as well. Also this game has not only incredible cutscenes and a good story but THE BEST Batman theme song ever, to the point it could match the grandness of John Williams Superman march. I am literally saddened that they do not use this theme more in other Batman media. And yeahhhh, bruh you was reaching so much with Batman using handcuffs, with the whole new age psuedo intellectual schtick. Sorry but Batman is actually doing the police's job better than them, the only crime is he isn't being paid for it, this is his life's work after all.

I loved the score of this game! I even liked the voice acting of most of the characters, especially Batman! Julian Fletcher nailed it. I absolutely agree with you about Arkham

Change the camera perspective and controls then the game would be decent. (It was possible with the tech at the time Batman Vengeance came out 2 years earlier)

No, you shouldn't. It's objectively terrible across the board and has very few redeeming qualities. There's almost no reason to even play it now, except out of sheer curiosity as to what defines a bad game. The game's atmosphere, opening cutscene and astonishingly superb musical score trick you into thinking there may be something worthwhile. But then you learn really quickly that there isn't anything here after the first "game over" screen.

I wanted to love it. It had an interesting story. It had a good cast of characters. It introduced me to a lot of the different characters. The gameplay sucks though lol

So the game wasn't actually fixed and the video is just about your recommendations to improve it. Huge shame I thought someone made a ROM hack that actually fixed the game. As a huge fan of the original resident evil games I always hoped a modder would go back and give this game the treatment it deserves. Theres a lot thats genuinely great about it but a lot holding it back too.

I found this game of the bargain bin one time at GameStop, out of curiosity, I bought it and tried it. It is damn near unplayable 😐
