I think I'm the only one who likes TASM console web swinging camera angle. It's just so different from what we're used to, and although he's swinging from the air, the feeling I got while swinging around the city that had surprisingly good graphics gave me a really good experience. Overall, that game was actually pretty good and I really love it

That part you mentioned about the thing being dumbed down to a zombie virus I disagree with, if you remember in the movie, windows got bitten and thrown around by his head during the blood test scene and was covered by that goo stuff, he was turned into a thing within mere seconds and was burned right after, you can even here him squeal

You can't call Tobey's voice acting bad then show one of the actual good lines from him in the black suit in Connors lab. He delivered that line perfectly.

Have you tired The Thing Remastered continuity mod? I tried it and it is pretty cool! It removes a lot of the scripted squad member assimilation and deaths. Though MOST already assimilated squad members still infected expect a couple. And it allows you to bring squad mates through all the levels. (Sadly, Carter and Cruz still can't be saved but it might be because it's hard coded...) I even managed to save Collins! It also makes the game harder by making it darker, removing engineer immunity as well as increasing the assimilation chance and reduces a lot of the ammo and items in the level. It is still a very work in progress mod and has some of bugs as well as not all levels are complete, and it does crash a couple times. But it was very fun to play so I wish the mod developer good luck!

PS2's version I liked enough. I personally am an outlier in that I liked the first game the most, just because it felt more like a unique experiance that was part of the film just not fully. I think overall S-M3 on PS2 is a decent time if you're just wanting something in the Rami world.

Shadow Man is awesome, finally got to finish the game through the Remaster (I played the N64 when I was a kid a ton of time, but there was always something preventing me to finishing the game but it remained stuck in my mind for all those years lol). Remaster is fantastic because it added a lot of cut content, including new areas (before you would fight Pike and Marco at Gardelle County Jail like Victor) and was a lot of fun getting lost and figure out stuff by myself and making notes by hand. Game already have journals you get from other character, so making my own notes felt like I'm really part of the game, sadly nowadays people barely has time to play so companies add floating waypoints and other things to help people find their way faster, so it's refreshing getting lost in an action adventure game again.
