Fixing BLHeli_S and BLHeli32 desyncs using BlHeli Configurator and BlHeli32Suite

If you find your quad randomly tumbles out of the sky when you're out flying, the chances are it's due to motor desync and fixing it is really easy.

I've found this exact issue too, all of the low kv motors Ive tested all had desync issues, my higher kv motors have had zero issues. I will try 20% ramp up power and see if it fixes it, thanks.

Hi, Great video. Thanks I have a 4 in one blheli_32 that one of the ESC's has burned. I put a single Blheli_s ESC instead of the burned one. That single ESC seems to start late than the other Blheli_32 esc's. When flying easy, everithing is OK, but whenever I blip the throttle the blheli_s motor, reacts late, and the drone falls (like a D-Sync) Tried to change the protocol, the rampup power, and other settings, but it stills reacts late then the other 3. Any ideas? Can I even mix, blheli_32 with blheli_s esc's? Thanks

While it is possible to mix ESC types, it's generally recommended to use the same type of ESCs for optimal performance and compatibility. The issue you're experiencing, with the BLHeli_S ESC reacting late compared to the other BLHeli_32 ESCs, could be due to the firmware and settings mismatch. BLHeli_32 ESCs generally have more advanced features and capabilities compared to BLHeli_S ESCs. Here are a few things you can try to address the issue: * Ensure that all the ESCs have the latest firmware installed. Check the manufacturer's website or the BLHeli configurator tool for firmware updates. Make sure you're using the correct firmware for each ESC type. * Double-check the configuration and settings for all the ESCs. Use the BLHeli configurator tool to verify that the settings are consistent among the ESCs, especially the timing, motor direction, and protocol settings. * Try adjusting the throttle calibration on the BLHeli_S ESC. You can use the BLHeli configurator tool to calibrate the throttle range specifically for that ESC. This might help synchronize its response with the other ESCs. If the issue persists, consider replacing the 4-in-1. It's a cost but you'll get back flying a lot sooner and in the long run you know it'll work. That is only needed when running 6s high kv set like 2600kv on 6s or 2450kv on 6s. lower ramp up on a normal set up just causes even more problems if you’ve got desync’s in bl heli defaults with say 1750kv on 6s or 1950kv. You’ve got work to do. Build. Low ramp causes loose and poor response man.

@@WhirlyBloke it’s funny cos I’ve seen endless people on discord with flignt issues then as I work backwards I then find out they’ve followed uavtech vids and other peoples leading them to a poor flying craft that never even needed esc settings changing. I get your trying to be helpful dude but vids like this create a wave of noob issues. And most people never build high kv 6s builds anyway. People will do this even if there not having desyncs not understanding what’s involved at a deeper level and then have more issues. 99% of people won’t have desyncs it’s not common unless of hardware problems are bad soldering and build skills.

@@noisy_boi_fpv_3920 Yes that's right. Don't change the motor timing, ramp-up power and demag compensation if you don't know what you're doing and if you don't have any problems.

My quad tumbeled from the sky. And when i try to arm it. Motor 2 didnt spin at all. So i removed the tape. And one of the mosfets had a small hole in it so im thinking the whole esc is toast

That definitely sounds like a fried MOSFET. I have replaced these in the past but you need to be very good at micro SMD reworking. Otherwise, you'll have to replace the entire 4 in 1 ESC. TBH ESCs are pretty reliable these days, but sometimes this sort of things can happen. It's mighty annoying though.

my chimera 7 is failsafing on big dives, it usuaully just micro failsafes but now and again fully blacks my goggles out and luckily gps rescue works. zero throttle on the dive then as it gets to the bottom it spins up crazy and moves to the left like its trying to return home, power surges and uses 2 to 3 full volts. Keep getting told its a desync but dont think it is. Any ideas mate? ive posted a video and explanation of it on my channel if you could check it out please. Cheers, Rob

@@shtarktv Extremely strong. It will take a GP8 but there is the AOS-5.5 that's designed to carry the extra weight of a full size GP.

What you are doing here, is masking the main problem wich is EMI. The problem is the Speedybee ESC you are using, it's garbage. It has one of the worst filtering I've ever saw. Reducing ramp up will of course reduce the noise due to lower voltage spikes, but it also decreases performance especially on low rpm. Dump this ESC!
