3:37 me as a german: visible confusion. Love the idea but here in Germany windows tend to be really expensively made (material-wise i mean, because they‘re really thick and well insulated for the colder seasons. They‘re rarely made from wood, usually they‘re PVC or aluminum/metal) so painting windowframes is not something you can really do here if you‘re renting. I mean, if you own the house you can do whatever you want, but just thought I‘d throw that out there 😅 nice idea though 😄

I don't know if someone else already mentioned this, but in Germany most window frames are made of plastic, so if someone is renting they can't just paint them black or some other color cause they'd have to scrape the color of without scratching the frame when they move out of the space. Other than that I love the changes to Lena's room :)

First space: The black window trim would be such a cool idea but if the appartment is a rental you would have to ask the landlord first and - living in Germany myself - I highly doubt he would allow it. Even if he would: those are plastic window frames and there would probably be no way to paint them properly and free of streaks. And, of course, when moving out, you would somehow have to remove the black colour completely which I also highly doubt would work. But since it would look so much better with a black window trim, I would try to use black static foil, which can be removed easily if needed.
@dddakotarose3 жыл бұрын
Drew had mentioned in a previous diy video that if you want the look of black window frames without painting (for whichever reason), you could use black electrical tape
@franketa763 жыл бұрын
@@dddakotarose you are right 😊👍 if you get that tape broad enough, it might work. But since the frame is at least 3 inches, you would have several pieces next to each other which wouldn't look pretty. But it could work on the smaller parts of the frame (like the parts where the glass is in, those are smaller pieces like 3/4 of an inch, I hope that makes sense 😂), you would save yourself the trouble of cutting the static foil to such small strips!😊
