Just a little educational moment for anyone who’s interested: the chrome chair of the last redesign is actually a design classic called the Wassily chair. It was designed by Marcel Breuer while he was at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany und the 1920s and is classified as modernist. Originally Breuer called his chair Model B3, but it was later dubbed Wassily Chair because Wassily Kandinsky, who was at the Bauhaus during the same time, liked the first design so much that Breuer fabricated a dublicate for him. I highly encourage everyone who is interested in architecture and design to read and learn about the Bauhaus movement because ist incredibly interesting and inspiring. A lot of modern design classics stem from this era.

I don’t like the chair at all, but I do really appreciate the historical architectural context - thank you for sharing that! 🥰
@Birtheish3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It threw me off a little when he said it has a "70's vibe" because i know it was designed in the 1920's, but I guess that just shows how timeless a lot of the Bauhaus design pieces are, and why they are still liked to this day.
@darrisnelson52233 жыл бұрын

(Room number 2) Such a cozy space! Re your vent, paint it the same color as your walls there is heat resistant paint out there. If it is a heat source, you can buy decorative wrought iron wall panels to cover it, then you don't have to deal with combustible issue. We did that with our panel until we had it taken out and a new heat source put in. There are some very affordable framed panels out there that will fit over that!

Hi Drew, check in feng shui as it helps with the flow of the design. Big faux pas in feng shui would be for example a mirror across the door (energy is not received) or anything over your head when you sit or lie down, so cabinets over head or shelf over sofa are big no-nos.

Love what you did to the first room (the small bedroom with built-ins surrounding the bed space). The second space (the newly-wed purchased condo) - what on earth is going on with the ceiling in the living room? It looks like the paint is peeling off or there are water/mold issues caused by leaking from something above (unit above?). You didn't mention it. It didn't appear in the photo of the "prior owner's" photograph of the place but it did appear in the video sent to you. The bedroom with the fireplace - lots of ways to go with a fireplace enhancement and a nice size room! I liked what you did but there didn't seem to be enough room on the side of the bed next to that large wardrobe piece to put a night stand. Also would have preferred a nice comfy cushy chair next to the fireplace even if it can't have a fire and there weren't any electric logs in it, along with a nice floor lamp and a small table to hold a glass of wine while sitting and reading. I do like the touches of French Provencial for a cozy comfy bedroom look.
