Love it. Your truck reminds me so much of my 74 HiLux. Make me miss it. The sound of the doors, hood and engine running really brings it home. The old girl has had a hard life, and it would be good to see ya restore it to as close to factory as possible. I think the Corona or Corolla from that same period uses many of the same parts. It may help you source what ya need. Anyhow keep it up love these small trucks

My 76 fiberglass body camper is a four-speed but I don't think a 5-speed would help it LOL but it is a chugger 2.0 actually it's a 2.2 but you know how they are

That one white wire under the dash on it's either the headlight switch plug or the ignition switch plug is a ground

There is nothing more enjoyable than fixing problems on your vehicle yourself mate well done for your perseverance with those grounding issues and I love your way of thinking on how to get around parts that are not easy to find 😊 can't believe how solid she is and it's so cool that you rescued she and got her back on the road I think the timing might be a bit out and she's running a bit rich but hay she looking good 👍

I still need to get a few odd and ends done on this thing to get it where it needs to be, timing, maybe a carburetor adjustment too, I live at 7,000ft in elevation, so that might be why its running rich right now.

It's an old engine, so time it with a vacuum gauge, If you can get it up to 17 - 18 on the gauge, it should run pretty well. And clean all the earth points while you try fixing the lights.@@redlineranch.

NIce work, but you should replace that air filter, it looks well & truly cooked and the engine is blowing black smoke, so it’s running rich and that air filter is most likely part of the cause

Great job especially on the learning curve. My first resurrection was a 25 yr. old '39 Chevy. At the very end of the video, I did not notice any glow from the registration markers, perhaps they're still covered in exhaust. Narragansett Bay

I'm digging these video's a sugestion after owning a mini truck that I wish I did was put some of the new interior sound deadening material in it, remember how loud it was inside and could never hear my stereo. Oh and in one of my $500 vehicles in the 80's I put in a hidden kill switch (should say under the hood battery kill not to drain battery and prevent your truck being stolen).

On the Hi Lux lights, line all of the reflective sockets with foil A/C tape to make them Brighter! And wash all the lenses and spray them with plastic lense treatment.😊

Also Holley seals LED hi n lo beam bulb the look just like Sealed Beam bulbs. Way brighter for country roads!!

I noticed a lot of my connections like on the solenoid we're just green and more than making connections same with the headlights no connection until you wiggle it And yes the grounds need to be there good

Another Hilux brought back to life maybe door cards and the roof lining done my 1997 Toyota Hilux was running and registered when l bought it in Newcastle N.S.W Australia and l drove the Hilux home and drove it to work on the Monday and discovered a wiring issue on the number plate light because it wasn't a part of the Toyota l have an aluminium tray and tge number plate bracket was fitted by the company who fitted the tray and it was the wordt job l have done on the Hilux and now my number plate light is an LED but all the work l have done on it has kept me busy just replacing a couple of 27 year old bits and making sure it passes its yearly registration inspection

1st & 2nd gen 4runners are just a different body on a hilux/pickup frame. All the parts should interchange.
