Fixing GH2 Panasonic Lumix shutter-problem and Repairing and it works Thanks Andre, for showing us the repair of the GH2 shutter stock. I found your item after a problem with my Lumix GH2. Februari 2014 my Lumix GH2 stopt working, shutter in photo-mode didn’t work. Most possible reason, shutter stocks. 2 years guaranty past 3 december 2013. Panasonic Netherlands service department felt no responsibility or clemency, and the costs for repair were mine. The technical report from a repaircenter chosen by Panasonic, said: General mechanical defect, Replacement Sensor Unit, total € 520,00 A bad feeling came over me and y told myself, Never ever a Panasonic, whatever. After seeing your item, my hope to repair the GH2 rises . Experienced in repairing of all camera’s, types and marks and electronics, i started opening my Lumix GH2, the service manual helpt and, …. what a discovering … a little pice of plastic felt out the Mountbox shuttermotor-gearbox in the Mountbox. After putting all parts thogether the moment of truth. It works, new life!! The truth bears hatred. Nothing wrong with the shutter. Panasonic and the repaircenter shoot by ashamed. This is defiantly a production problem and more users must have the same problem. A (happy) user of the GH2,

That is an amazing story Pieter! My one continued working for 7-8 months and now it's stuck again. i'm not sure if I want to open it again because it's so much work but maybe one day I will open it and find another small piece of plastic inside making the shutter stuck!

Thanks for this. My GH2 shutter also 'jammed' so I took it apart with the help of your video and the Life Pixel tutorial. Opened up the shutter mechanism and blew it out with air. Didn't find any debris. The blades moved smoothly. Reassembled everything pretty easily and when I power up it's the same as before. There is a soft sound and the blades sometimes move a bit but they refuse to open. So I'm assuming it has something to do with a worn out motor? I was pretty attached to this camera. Ahh, well...

was thinking of doing this on my GH4 but that looks way too complex. In deperation tried my spare panasonic battery and it works again. Turns out some third party batteries don't last as long.

Funny that you should ask, went on a trip to scotland a couple of weeks ago and for whatever reason it gave up (same symptoms as before) half way into the trip so that was what... a good 7-8 months use out of it? Not sure if i'll bother to open it all up again anytime soon, so much work :S

probably the wrong budget but if it's useful at all, I've been wanting a GH4 since it came out and now the GH5 but a couple of months ago got the little brother G80 and I'm loving it. it's like a Gh5 without any of the more pro features that I wouldn't use anyway. if you can make it stretch that far I would recommend it

Vc por acaso tirou fotos da placa mãe? Gostaria de tentar ver como é o slot SD para tentar comprar algum similar para poder substituí-lo, obrigado!

i bought a panasonic g7 from craigslist and it turns out that the shutter is bent and it was working fine when i was testing it out but now its stuck halfway so when i take a picture half of the image is black from the stuck shutter. panasonic can fix it for 300 which sucks because i paid 400 for it. that guy basically scammed me for 400 dollars.

Same problem I have, I bought a used one too and after like 3 weeks the baranda gets stuck sometimes, this is very annoying

Hello guys. I just had this problem with my Lumix G7. It happened the same to me and i didnt even use it once, of course the ex owner didnt care... I was so worried because i thought i lost all my savings buying the camera (In my country the price of the camera is twice the mininum wage so you can imagine) i deicided to take it to a repairing place (Not a panasonic one) and they repaired the stuck shutter for around 60 USD. The engine of the shutter was misaligned so the curtain wasnt working really well. My idea is: If you take your camera to panasonic of course they are going to charge you even more because its a benefit to them to change the whole piece because is more expensive. They basically say: If you dont pay this money you aint gonna use your camera again, so deicide... I recommend you guys to take it to a repairing place and see what happens! Greetings from Colombia.
