Thanks for the extremely detailed video! I downloaded the DNA installation manual, but ended up referencing your video for the whole install. I'm not massively handy but I managed everything and the orientation for the chromed plates was super helpful. I sat for while trying to understand which way around they fitted and the video was great. My only near disaster was almost leaving my laptop on the roof of the car... so nearly went off on a test drive with it still there! For me the kit has made a difference - not a massive difference, but the best you can get without the purchase and installation of after market seats which is much, much more. I am happy.

Great video! I have to say for me I did not mind the stock driving position of the GR Yaris I drove on my channel. It will just depend on the individual whether or not the lowered seat is really worth it. Love the tutorial of it all as for some this could be a must have 👍

crazy how many aftermarket products already exist for this car, even such a niche piece like lowering the OEM seat! that doesn't even exist for the STi! and I've seen many asking for one!

I absolutely love the stock driving position, set by Tommy Hakkinen, you get great visibility and it is wonderful just floating around the bends. I just don’t understand the criticism.

Great video. Could I ask 2 things? How tall are you? And after lowering the seat, does the seatbelt not cut into your neck? I'm 5ft 6" and as the seatbelt are non-adjustable, I'd worry it would then cut into my neck. Not what you want if suddenly stopping

Yes, two kits for the two chairs. They can be used interchangeably. Only difference between the sides is the shims 👍🏼

No, not yet. Strangely, I never found the mirror too much of an issue. I might try one out to see what all the fuss is about!

I've just received my dna kits for both front seats. I was told they are not sided but in your video you say 8mm shims for drivers side and 12mm for passenger. So are the kits different? 👍🏼

All kits come with both 8mm and 12mm shims so no.. the kits aren't sided, but you need to install the correct shim dependant on the side you are installing them on (if that makes sense?)

An invaluable review for many. Rather than the usual, yes we'll lower your seating position by putting totally different hardcore style recaros, charge you a fortune and effectively make the car's comfort, as a daily rather than a track weapon, much worse! For my convenience pack with a HUD, it will possibly not be viable/ HUD still visible? Depends how many inches lower it is. Totally agree though that the standard seating position is pants, literally! I'm used to it now plus slouch too. Just need to see you on the road and let me sit in yours to establish if it's viable, windscreen height wise, for mine 😉 Without wishing to sound anal, was your insurance premium/company affected and understanding re the modification?? Cheers.

Yeah it really is. The kit is minimal so you barely notice it from an aesthetic perspective. The lowering makes a huge difference though!

The clips are ridiculously complex. I farted around with them for longer than I'd like to admit and still don't really have an answer for you!

It's a cable tie kind of setup. I ended up cutting them and simply threading a new cable tie through the gap when I was done.

How much heavier are these seat components compared to stock?

Apologies, I didn’t weigh them but the whole kit is added weight as you don’t really remove anything from the stock setup.

Does it help as well with the seating position in general? I'm 6.2 (1.90m) and find it difficult to have a very comfy position. I need to sacrifice leg room to be close enough to steering wheel and lowering the seat does not help much due to the backwards tilting that lowering adds to it (further to wheel again). What are your views? Thanks for the video!

The suspension secrets one looks pretty good! The DNA one is quite minimal in comparison though.

Sadly it's not the Yaris' fault but the shit drivers that always appear to be driving them. On my list of terrible drivers, the Yaris comes top by a country mile. Followed by Nissan Micra and Fiat 500.
