Fixing hats to heads

Thanks for sharing! I was wondering if the headpiece gets a little bit too exaggerated, is it okay to attach elastic to the end of headband? And is there any appropriate way to do that?

What do you call the piece of material that you used to hide the thread used to hold the headband inside the hat?

It is just craft felt (acrylic)
