Good stuff - always satisfying when that happens 🙂

In my jag the right door in the back doesn't open like 95% of the time and the door on the left side in the back doesn't open like 40% of the time but i don't know why sometimes the wholr central locking mechanisme doesn't work but thay does not happen that much. Do you know why this happens?

@@rot_be6u332 I can't really say with any accuracy as each car is different in terms of how it has aged and what wear and tear it has encountered over the years. My off-side rear door solenoid stopped working entirely so a relatively easy one to diagnose. If the issue is intermittent, then it may need some more detective work to see if there are any common use-cases that cause the issue(s) e.g. battery condition / charge, wet weather etc. Otherwise it might be useful to investigate the door that "plays-up" the most and see if there are any issues with corrosion / water ingress and perhaps test the solenoid to see if it is firing correctly. Good luck and sorry I can't provide any specific resolution.

@@toooldclassics yeah it's an xjr 1991 jaguar but i think when it's wet outside that it then doesn't work most of the time

@@rot_be6u332 A special car indeed. It might be worth checking if the doors are draining water correctly and maybe check for wiring splits / corrosion.

was only1 of your doors notworking? today my entire entral Locking stopped working. i can onlyopen the main door and all others dont open or close again. therefore it feels like something else might be broken a my end. (surely not all 3 locking solenoids died at the same time)

@@sparklauerei1 Hi, yes - just the one door. All the others were fine. Sounds like you can only open the driver's door manually on the key ? If so, I have a similar issue very occasionally on my XJ-S when the battery is not 100%. It's an infrequent intermittent issue that I have not really dealt with as I only use the car very occasionally. I would be surprised if three solenoids have all failed at the same time in your case. Might be worth checking the battery if not checked already.

@@toooldclassics hii thanks for your reply battery seems to be at the same charger since forever. i often used the car the last 4 days and just today the central locking died. now i took the central locking module from the passenger dashboard apart but it looks mint.... gonna insert it again i guess. f*** me

@@sparklauerei1 that's tough and not fun. Control module makes sense. Not sure how you test the integrity of that. There are a few threads on the Jaglovers forum on XJ40 and central locking issues. Guess you have already seen these. Hope you get it sorted.

@@toooldclassics Some wizard named "Grooveman" from the forum you mentioned had a old post. it mentioned going into the car, locking yourself in by pushing all locking nipples down and waiting 1 min. SOMEHOW it works again. WTF xD i cried 6 hours outside in the rain (yea i dont have a garage)
