THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! I have 7 batteries and only one worked. Looked for months trying to fix it or get it fixed, but no luck. Purchased a couple of replacement batteries on Ebay two years ago for $59, now there selling for $100-$125. Came across this article, tried it and so far 4 are working. Still have 2 batteries to go. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this for the rest of us. As others, I had threw out the Jonsered battery and replaced with a Snapper. It went bad too. I haven't checked how well it holds a charge yet but it is now green and charging. It is great that you give back to the community with your knowledge and time. I occasionally make you tube videos too when I figure something out. I get so much from this medium.

Thank you so much! I already threw out one of my Jonsered batteries before and replaced it with a Poulon Pro one. Then today my other Jonsered battery did this, and your solution worked! Wish I still had my old one but that was before this video was out. You rock!

I tried your method and it did not work for me. But I just held down the button for several minutes while not in the charger and it brought it back to life. Thank you so much for the time that you put into this. I wish I had seen this last year before tossing my other battery away.

Unfortunately this tip did not work with my broken mcculloch battery...

Excellent advice. The test button is in a different spot on a Poulan 58V battery but, once you find it (in the center) the technique works just as well.

A few months ago my former neighbor gave me two of these with charger and they worked great and now they won’t charge. I found your video and neither would reset and charge. I used a can of compressed air some wipes and cleaned all contact points. Still no luck. So I switched the batteries to opposite chargers. Did the reset And finally got both batteries to recharging again. Thanks you saved me $170.00

Use a voltmeter to check the battery voltage and that it's not too low. It shouldn't be more than a few volts off

Shall I assume it turns on and just give you the red exclamation mark when the battery is installed?

@@practicalthings Correct. red light on battery went off just like yours but green doesn't come out.

@@hg2305 If the battery completely drained you may need to jump start the battery to charge it a little bit directly. Try measuring the voltage with a volt meter and see how much you read. If it's too low then it will not charge anyway.

Something permanent could be the problem. Either cell voltage too low or possibly a temperature sensor bad or something else. Take it apart carefully and just look for visual signs of a problem. Be careful though not to accidentally short anything on the circuit board. They're not easy to repair but if a visual reveals something that may help. You can also check the fuse for continuity.

No luck with this so far. I suspect some problem with temperature sensor. I can get mine to charge after keeping it at fridge for a while. Not very convenient lol.

Keep a fridge in your office. Actually, open it up and use a freeze spray to identify the problem part or sensor. That's one way. Use an upside air spray as freeze spray.
