@@zoomzoomboomboom actually I brought one of the old ones with me to the store and matched it up , was easier that way . FYI the new hubs or center of wheels were galvanized but I painted them black because it’s FL and everything rusts . They still look & work great .

It might be worth noting that adding a little petroleum jelly or vasoline to the O-Rings will help and prolong the life a lot longer. Also the fitting that the hose acutally screws into, unscrews and has an O-Ring there as well. The replacement O-Ring can also be found in the kit striker1211 mentioned from Harbor Freight.

trying to figure out where this other o ring you speak of? mine came from tractor supply about 4 yrs ago. Mine started leaking like this too. Removed mine and I have 4 o rings in same area in this video., He has only 2

Best I can remember, In the video he replaces 2 O-Rings that are going Horizontal. After re-assembly I noticed I still had a leak. So disassembled it again and found an additional O-Ring that ran Vertical. After replacing that one and the wore out small hose the cart was like new again. I will add that before I removed anything I cut the end of the Metal U-Bracket off, which he outlines in the video. That is totally necessary to avoid damaging the brass fittings. Hope that helps.

That metal bracket is to protect that hose fitting. That's its purpose. You can remove it if you have to. Won't hurt anything

Thank, unfortunately my two wheel version made the connection out of chrome steel and because of the rust i can't see a new oring not getting destroyed. Ill have to live with the leak😢.

use silicone spray works best... and just spray it every now and then. BTW, the "guard" keeps the end from turning around and around.

Thanks for the video, I have a question. Mine won’t spin and seems to be seized up, how do I fix that? The reel won’t spin.

If it was mine I would get some penetrating oil like PB (or Liquid Wrench) , put the unit on its side so that the bearing is like a "bowl", and then spray the PB on it and let it soak overnight. Once it's freed up I would use lithium grease on it and rotate it to work it into the bearing.

My hose reel has the same fitting and is leaking, so I assume the O rings need to be replaced. There is nothing blocking mine, so when I remove the snap ring will the piece that has the O rings slide right out? Then I just push it back in and put the snap ring back on after I put on the new O rings?

Yeah if you don't have the metal bar there the hose should come off once you remove the snap ring. Wear glasses those things can fly.

All fixed. Had to do it twice. First time I must have used too small of an O ring and it leaked worse. Next size up fixed it.

The U-shaped Bracket is threaded ONLY on the RIGHT SIDE as you are looking down on it. All you had to do was unthread the one nut that's holding it and the bracket would have come right off!

Haha my jb weld fix failed just this last week so I too am saying forget it and ordered a Costco retractable hose reel. I am just going to use the reel to store extra hose for for very very few times I need 300 ft of hose.
