Tommy is a perfectionist. You guys have to remember to grow in the Lego space nowadays, you have to have more fast paced content. Since this mod video is on the slower side, it’s a whole new audience, so Tommy is putting it here. Honestly, Tommy is so YT smart, he knows what he’s doing.

@@brotherfromanotherbrick Except the other channel has huge gaps between uploads, which also isn't good for growth in the Lego space. Look I like the content but this channel was started with the promise of multiple videos and sat dormant for weeks before an upload was made. Why not just wait until the vids are ready? I think you're right that he's a perfectionist, but in my opinion, that more often leads to massive gaps in content, now spread across two channels. There's also no real difference in the editing or video style. Multiple channels generally means higher production videos on one, quicker edits on the other. That's my opinion, I don't know the guy, I wish you the best Tommy.

Tempted to see if the parts exist for a custom R2 droid with my own color scheme (Blue and Yellow if it wasnt obvious), the stickers would be a pain, but if the parts can be found, id be satisfied with no stickers

Just a small nitpick but I'm 95% certain that R4 isn't a real astromech droid in attack of the clones. He's literally just a head of an astro droid that's a part of Obi-Wan's starfighter because that ship didn't have any room for a full droid

I'm pretty sure it's a full astromech Droid considering in the starwars ships dissected books it shows that astromech droids can have their head rearranged relative to there body to be compatible with different ships.

​@leviathanthewise2566 Correct. Originally, she started as just the dome head attached to Obi-Wan's starfighter, but during the Clone Wars, her head was attached to a full astromech body so that she could have more uses than just being a part of a starfighter.

Fun fact, the lego r4 is WRONG, if you look at episode 3 (where R4 has a full body in obi-wan's Red interceptor) you can see it is red, and if you look closely just before R4 has it's head ripped of by the buzz droids, the body and limbs are red. Just thought I'd point that out. Also, I said episode 3 because in 2, R4 is hardwired into the ship, there is no body on it.

Fun fact, this r4 is based on the first body she gets after leaving the star fighter in episode 2 we see this body in clone wars, toys and the minifigures, episode 3 body was different but not what I was going for here

These are pretty excellent! There's just one thing throwing me off about the official design of R2-D2, though. His head just feels...Off. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but I think it might be that the blue stripe at its base is too thick and there's no grey beneath it, between the end of the body and the blue line itself.

Man I was wondering how long after this set came out it would be before someone did this! Everyone seems to be overlooking this set, as most are too focused on the exclusive minifigure- I mean the figure is going for half the cost of the set and loads of people are selling the remnants of the set on (minus the figure) for a bargain price! But whilst I like R2 (who doesn’t), I’m not a fan of mostly white sets. You just no they’re gonna look terrible in the future. But I was thinking about doing my own version of this set but in a different colour- like as an R2-Q5 or a C2-B5 or even an R2-B1. I was thinking it would be a good colour scheme as you could almost brick build some of the sticker detail on B1 instead, his chest arm covers being yellow on a blue body instead of white on white or black on black! 06:06 Having done a parts check on the set, it’s entirely possible to do an R2-B1 using blue and yellow parts in place of dark blue and white ones! Would love a sticker sheet to match, mainly just for the arm covers on the 2x4 curved pieces on the chest in yellow!

@TommyCFigs there actually two R4s, R4-P17 and R4-G9, G9 was a substitute droid b/c weird fighter integrations while R4-P17 had an actual body, if I'm reading this correctly their data banks were interchanged for a seamless transition Furthermore, R4-P17 seems to have actually lost her body, gotten a shorter one later and then just been integrated into the ship before apparently getting a body again later

The bigger one is leaving shelf’s this year and I think this one was made as the bigger one is just really expensive for what you get, imo this one is much better then the bigger one and more versatile plus c3po should pair nicely when he comes out later this year

Hey if you want a real cash cow for the sticker markets get into speed champions there are so many details on those cars that lego just didn't give us and especially with the new f1 sets rally cars and endurance cars they are releasing in that line it'd be easy to make different teams liveries instead of just the one lego gives you
