In this video I install and review a Steeda Tri-Ax Race short throw shifter in my 2024 Ford Mustang GT s650. My goal is to get rid of any annoying MT82 Transmission problems and to make it feel all that much better! Mission Accomplished! These also fit all manual 2015-2023 Mustang's as well!

How do you take off the shift boot? I had a short throw installed and im having issues with reverse lockout. It gets stuck in the up position.

Great video Alex! Thanks for sharing. I have used MGW and Callaway in the past. I have been waiting over a year for the Dark Horse order. I have two cars that are manual so my wife pleaded with me to order the 10R80 for the Dark Horse. I would prefer the Tremec; that’s what I have in my Corvette but I need peace at the dinner table and my wife likes Mustangs so I agreed to order the automatic. When I boost the DH the 10R80 will be fun with 800+ rwhp. What exhaust do you currently have on? Did you transfer the Kooks headers from the white Mustang to the new red Mustang? So changing the clutch will fix the issue? I’m getting an exedy clutch stage 1 installed today on my 17 GT.

People think high RPM lockout is due to a cluch line, a shifter, or a blowfish bracket, if your a NA car, or moderate boosted, RST McLeod or vengeance, big boost, RXT or Mantic, I won't recommend any Spec products

I totally agree with using an aftermarket short throw shifter for racing compared to stock.. But that's what I don't want.. I don't want a million little pieces to play with.. I like the way the MGW comes and how easy it is to put in and adjust.. Currently I am still using my 2017 stock set up but I added the Steeda Body bracket and changed the shifter ball and just doing those 2 things was enough to make the stock shifter tolerable for weekend driving and some fun.. I still only have 12K miles on my 2017 Performance pack so my Trans feels pretty new and rock solid still.. But eventually when I feel like the car doesn't owe me anything and I get some debts paid off I am going to Whipple it and put a race shifter in it for sure.. It just sucks that Ford puts a Good enough Trans in the Car instead of a great one!! For the money and the cost of these cars, Ford really cheaped out..

I'm big on the stock feel and I hate NVH.. I put a trans insert in my car and pulled it back out the next day because of NVH.. Hell to the No.. It was so loud inside the car and the vibration was awful even at low RPM's it was super loud.. So I left the Steeda Body bracket on and pulled that trans insert out and found that happy medium.. Just doing a weighted ball and the Steeda body bracket makes for a way better feel and shifts..

I was wondering when you were going to put out a video. Thanks 🙏 for the video on the Steeda shifter . I’ve had 2 Mustangs with the MT 82 transmission and yes the factory shifter is not that great . I never changed my shifter cause I couldn’t make up my mind which to go with . Anyway I have Automatic now and I don’t need to worry about a shifter . I must say the shifter you installed definitely has a short tight pattern. I bet it’s a blast to drive . As always thanks 🙏 again for a quality video .

Great video Alex! You can never go wrong with adding a short throw shifter. I was amazed at how much difference adding a MGW made on the 3160 in my Mach 1.

Just started watching your videos, I’m also in Clarksville. Never driven the mt82 but I loved the 6 speed in my Mach 1. Recently got a ct5 v blackwing and the tremec isn’t as satisfying as the mach 1.

MGW on my gen 3 mustang gt and it is awesome, no starter noise, feels like a gated shifter, shifts like a bolt action rifle.....and then drain the DCT automatic transmission fluid and put BG Syncro Shift II and one small bottle of their friction modifier....the cherry on top. Rock on Zander, nice car

Been down this road with fluid many times. You want 1.2 Litres of Motul DCT, 1.5 litres of BG Synchro Shift 2, 250ml of Penrite Shift Eze. Dont go full 75w80.

@@ahmadalojaiman9877 Hey there, don't know if you found your answer, but there is in fact a shift light in 2024 GTs, you can enable it by going to your customization options I believe under the same menus you would find your safety features at. I have mine enabled and it's pretty handy!

@Zander13Productions because it doesnt hard mount to the transmission for starters, it doesnt have the refinement of the MGW, or the Barton. It uses the weak shifter cup, it's wearing out now to the point it shifts into the wrong gears, and from day 1, it was a pain in the arse to get into reverse. I literally had to machine and file stuff off so the lockout would actually allow it to go into reverse. On top of that, it uses the factory slide bushings, and after seeing how weak they are OEM, hoping the steeda would fix the shaft movement while shifting, It doesn't. I'm currently CAD designing parts to resolve the sifter issues of this shifter. I actually made bushes for the factory ford unit, put the ford performance short shifter in it, and it's WAY better. For the money you pay for it, it shouldn't use a single OEM piece. MGW and Barton don't, and are near on price matched.
