I think the regular switch is well worth the extra money. It's just so much more versatile. You can play it in handheld mode, tabletop mode where you use the kickstand and disconnect the joycon, or tv mode. Also, if you get the regular switch you can get a pro or wired controller, which are /way/ more comfortable for playing certain games. Like if you play games like Mario Kart where you have to press down a button for a long time, the regular joycons would leave little button marks on my fingers 😅The buttons on the pro controller or wired controllers are SO much more comfortable for stuff like that.

I still think that you should buy the dockable switch no matter what, I've had times where I've found it more useful to own the full switch, being able to dock it isn't my main concern but being able to play with separate joycons without wasting money for new ones is so useful for some games with multiplayer
