For everyone commenting about hitting the rear piston in both rear callipers are completely fine and brakes have been bled.

Alright m8 the rear pistons wind clockwise back in the calliper NOT push so hitting them in with Hammer has most definitely ruined the threads 😂 👍🏻

That caliper winds back and the rubber piston seal that's twisted on the old caliper just need some grease on it to free it up. Over time the rubber seal gets stuck in the lip of the piston and starts to get pulled round as the pads wear down 👌. Good tools always make the job easier 👍

Only needed to remove the 2 13mm bolts to remove the caliper, not to get carrier to and the piston winds back , not a push like the front

Those rear calipers need to be wound back in whenever you see pistons with indentations like that you wind them in. You may of possibly caused some damage to them by forcing them in like that.

The rears need twisting and pushing thats what them groves are for ..the pistons rotate as pushed in and out

love ur vids , when i first got my astra my brakes were also ceased got one freed but had to buy a new calliper then for the other side

😮😮 you will be replaceing those calipers again as they wind in not push in unlike the fronts

As said there is a caliper wind back tool as it adjusts the piston for the handbrake, It will also need bleeding for sure as it will have air in there especially the caliper itself but depending on history a good idea to change it as its hygroscopic, But never really bothered with furthest away as it will bleed accordingly. if the banjo had copper washers they should also be replaced as a matter of course,

I had to bleed from furthest away as tried in different corners and still had air however doing it from furthest away then get closer fixed everything.

i had a problem with the windows to but figured out it was the switch i took switch from back doors and put it on the passenger and put it up and took it off till i got a new switch

I'd of cleaned up those calipers and give them a slight touchup with some paint to make them look nice before fitting.

I have bleeded the brakes with my dad starting from furthest away and get closer to reservoir.

Good effort mate but the pad carrier didn’t need to come off only the calliper so could’ve saved yourself some time , also the rear pistons don’t push back they wind back so make sure they don’t leak fluid as it could’ve ruined the sills in the calliper🙈 we all start somehwre tho well done for trying

Im in a similar story to you but with an ep3. I would have tackled it myself however one of the caliper nuts seized on and i didnt have the tools so gave up and took it to the mechanics

@@MrBillyVlogs how do you get off a seized caliper nut?? Ive now ordered a 500nm electric impact wrench/gun and a breaker bar for future diys

@@Twongz_does_anything My bolts were tough took me a few minutes with the ratchet however I would recommend WD-40 and leave over night I used this when bleeding the brakes worked a charm. A socket gun would come in handy.

@@Twongz_does_anything mate anything on Ep3 civics get some wd40 on it a few days prior to when you wanna do the job and keep spray it on until the day you do the job and use heat such as a blow torch and it works a dream trust me I’ve had the same issues over the last 3 years on my own ep3!!

Reuse the old pads to help compress the piston back in. Who needs to pay a mechanik to do the work. When you can do it yourself and learn and save yourself $$

The piston on the rear callipers are wind back, basically screw in also you shouldn't be clamping Yr rubber brake hose with Sharpe metal molegrips so many things wrong in this episode stick to paying a mechanic in future 😂😂
