It's incredible that you are taking the time and money to salvage a car that today many would consider disposable, many people will simply drive it until it no longer runs or passes the MOT and then take it to the scrapyard. Bravo 👏🏻

My Focus Estate Mk. 1, 2004, passed the MOT one year ago (Switzerland). Go on with your good work 🎉

Wow. Basically a young version of Jon Coupland's dad. That actually looks (apart from the sills) solid and thoroughly driveable now and I imagine that with some new dampers it will ride even better than before. With proper underbody protection it could have a lot of years left in it. The original Ford mats really give it a lift visually.

Superb work after all that welding work and now that I've seen the before and after that is a really good welding finish and it will give the car years of life to come when most would not even contemplate such effort! The mats are a great addition as they are still cheap. I think this video is the exact opposite of the throw-away-society we live in! Great meeting you the other day and seeing this car in the flesh. It's always worth it in the end :)

Loving the enthusiasm and commitment for the Focus, I doubt it would have been saved without you. I'm enjoying the attention to detail too, the genuine Ford mats are exactly what I do to my cars (along with genuine mudflaps, boot liners, etc.), no matter how old or worthless my cars are!

Looking really good well done for tackling the rust! It’s very hard and frustrating work but in areas like this they don’t have to be perfect, just strong and at a good standard to keep the MOT man or woman happy. 👏👏👏

Don't throw the wing away, some good metal in it for patching the outer rear.....

There's something quite satisfying in taking a car that no one wants and costs next to no money and with a bit of time and a little money can provide good reliable transport you can take pride the next time u pull up at a set of traffic lights looking at somebody's new car they don't probably own lease or finance for a few of their monthly payments u can have a car which will provide transport for a good few yrs whilst their car depricates by thousands each Yr I been doing thus for yrs and its been cheap motoring my present car is a mk1 focus 1.8 petrol which I bought In 2016 for £850 I have doubled the mileage nearly 200000 and last mot went straight through hopefully will last a bit longer yet

Well done Sion a brilliant job as ever and well done on the welding no mean feat with how much was needed but is nice and solid again don’t worry about not filming it’s understandable but your welding looked fine to me Looking forward to future upgrades and well done on finding the wing and boot lid in colour!

Well done on all the progress 👍 Going through a similar journey with my own Mk1 2.0 Zetec & spending way more than most would consider the car is worth but they are brilliant examples of Ford at it's best and well worth restoring/preserving...

Great job buddy. I am welding up a Discovery 1 and I think when finished 30% of the body will have been replaced because of the tin worm. But it is satisfying when a piece is solid again.

Given it's value, it's a great car to try welding and it keeps a car otherwise uneconomical to repair.

If people just jetwashed the wheel arches once a week this wouldn’t happen my 22 year old bmw E46 which is on 261k miles has all 4 completely rust free arches as the previous owner who bought it from new cleaned out the arches every week and wash waxed it twice a week 😊

What Dremel discs did you use? I have tried to cut metal with them and I found they disintegrated quicker than a rusting Ford.🤭
@MorselsAndMotors

They are called EZ SpeedClic 38mm metal cutting discs. You need a little adaptor too for the SpeedClic system. Well worth getting
