After doing some streaming on Twitch *cough* twitch.tv/ChaseYama *cough*, I realized that my internet was having a really hard time with keeping a stable connecting. So, I decided to try out the TP-Link AV2000 Powerline Ethernet Adapter! Here's my unboxing and first test!

Does your adapter (the one plugin to your internet/modem) gets warmer compare to the receiving adapter? Tia
@ChaseYama Жыл бұрын
Personally, I haven't noticed the adapter getting warmer.

@@ChaseYama thanks for the reply. Mine gets warm, the one that's connected to my router. I tried swapping it but confirm which ever is connected will get warm. But if i disconnect the network cable it stays cool.

So if im not using it i just disconnect the network cable. Too troublesome

Question: as there’s 2 network ports at the bottom? What are they used for? Example, let’s say one cat cable is from your router to the tplink, what’s the other cat Ethernet for?

So, one of the TP-Links will be used as the "Host" which sends the network from the router through the powerline. Like you said, one port is used to connect to the router. I don't want to say for certain, but my best guess is that the second port can be used to connect to another device? However, I'm 80-90% certain that on the "Receiving" TP-Link, you can use both ports to connect to 2 different devices.

I just found these at a thrift store for $2. I hooked them up and im getting about 150mpbs. I have a 600mbit plan. So, these arent even close to whats advertised. I read that the speed depends on the wiring in your home, so i dont know

It will block if you're trying to plug in a 3-prong plug but a 2-prong should fit. Wish the indicator lights were on the front. Good video however.

True, it's a bit annoying that the lights aren't easily visible. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for this informative video! I've been thinking of getting the av2000 for my internet and I appreciate you pointing out the detail about how the adapter projects but also blocks the top outlet to a degree. Good things to know. 🙂👍

The worst video I have ever seen. Camera view bouncing all over. Info very vague. No help at all!

Thanks for the suggestion. Those games feel a bit too saturated on KZbin, so I’m not too sure if I would play those right now. But maybe some day?
