LUBE IT! Hi there thanks for the video, I have the same problem with the same “quite” model bought new about 10 years ago. In this days of “corona virus” it takes forever to get a tech to come to your house and any savings are welcome! After watching your video the project looked less intimidating and I went right onto it, opened the back panel to access and inspect the tension pulley and it was difficult to spin, chirping just like yours. Problem was Amazon was/is out of the repair kit so I use a tiny bit of GREASE and the problem is gone! It took me longer to clean the mess of lint back there than to get the bravo to be quite again, all together about 30 mins. So at least for now I bought me some time and the laundry goes on!!! Thanks again for posting your handy work.

Awesome. I find that most things can be easily repaired and give you greater distance rather than pay for a new one or pay out of your a** for service n parts. I too used youtube to look into doing the job myself and deciding that it looked way to easy not to do it myself. Glad my video helps other people. I also repaired my matching washing machine. Replaced the bearing in the tub. Also easy but unfortunately I did not make a video of it .

Thanks for the video! I have the same dryer. I didn't have a noise but the clothes would be really hot yet still wet after the cycle. Cleaned out the vent and that didn't help so I took it apart and saw that the fan/impeller belt was laying in front of the motor. I didn't know what an assembled belt system looked like until I watched your video. I am up and running now! Thanks again!
@mama45344 жыл бұрын
Did you just have to put the belt back into place? I have this same problem!!! We have to dry one load 3-4 times
@johndittle27904 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. When putting the belt back on the cog (for lack of a better term) the belt rides on was basically sitting on top of the spindle. So, I cranked that back down really snug and slipped the belt back on. Never had a problem after that.

the kit part # is in one of the comments here but here it is: Parts kit 4392067 I just googled it and it has all the parts on Amazon for $22.48 with Prime shipping (April 2021). It includes the nylon pulley he identifies as the culprit. Wondered how to the quality of these cheap (price) repair kits compare to originals... any sense in going with a bit more expensive parts kit or... all from the same factory? (Parts select wants $57 and Repair Clinic wants $66 for the kit for example). Question: is the dryer still working with this repair now going on 2 years later?

How long have you had it at that time?
@DigitalRick2 жыл бұрын
Around 6 years or so. I bought the set from a friend who had for several years for his family. I'm guessing on the time. Most people assume they can't fix the appliances they own and either pay big for service or just replace it. You save alot of money if you fix it yourself and I didn't wanna replace either unit so I researched the symptoms online then used youtube to guide me I to it. Works like new from the repairs and is that way currently.

Appreciate the video and while I believe you found the culprit to be the nylon pulley on the motor, I didn't see in the video where you replaced it. Did you? And was this pulley included with the Kit? Also, what was the special tool that you had to buy and where'd you get it? Was it also with the kit?
@DigitalRick5 жыл бұрын
Sorry its taken so long to reply, I was on vacation in Asia for several weeks. The kit comes with the new belt, 4 rollers for the drum, a nylon pulley wheel and all the needed retainers. I replaced everything the kit provided and was good to go. Again, sorry it took so long to reply and I hope my video was somewhat helpful.

You fast forwarded through some of the most important parts (putting the parts on) and then all of a sudden you had the whole thing put back except the back. It would have been more helpful to show how you put everything together. Meanwhile, other less important parts just dragged....

You need a new heating element and thats super easy to replace and also easy on the wallet. Also a good time to clean the internal areas of your dryer.

hi, what if dryer keeps igniting burner, runs briefly , then flame goes out, re-lights again for a brief time, then goes out again. i can dry clothes but it takes a long time, and many times the drying keeps going on and on and on for hours even when clothes are dry. Is this multiple parts malfunctioning? I have already replaced the solenoid, still does same things. Any ideas. I have exact same gas dryer that you have.

quick question. when you took apart the dryer for the first time, had it ever been repaired before? I'm wondering because the belt looked awfully tight (idler pulley really close to the motor pulley, but that might be normal......im trying to figure out if the belt is too short on mine, but it looks exactly like yours , so if yours is correct (as far as what the belt and tension looked like) from factory, then I know mine is right (even though the tension is tight).

thanks for the video, I just purchased the same dryer from a individual in southern illinois. Upon starting it, the smell of burning rubber started. Drum seemed stuck (possibly from hauling on trailer home) after some force it started to spin free again. I noticed there was some black belt shavings on the floor but the belt seems good. I thought it was fixed, ran the dryer again and it literally lit the lint on the bottom on fire by the heating element. Kind of scared now. Any advice on what I should do? Does that repair kit include a new belt as well?
@DigitalRick6 жыл бұрын
yes the kit has a new belt In my video, you can see where I identify the heater element area, I talk about the burnt lint and hair, you can clean that out if its got shit in it, which I'm sure it will. The task is super simple and you should take pictures of anything that you are about to take apart. Especially the belt on how it is around the pulleys and drive wheel. The new belt will be tough to get on there cause its not stretched out. It pissed me off....lol. I would take being pissed over paying for a new appliance, so I try to repair everything.
