Great tutorials. Common sense approach and explaination for the DIYer. ANYONE can fix common problems and issues by following you on your channel. I pick up scrap metal as a sideline, and its amazing how many nice, late model units i pick up as junk that need very little. I had one recently that the keeper and ider pully fell off of. That was all, and it was scrapped by the customer. I donate most of my repaired units to people who cant afford to buy new appliances. Thanks for making your contribution of knowledge.

Thank you for the simple to follow video. I've had to replace the idler pulley twice over the past two years and used your method (removal of back panel) both times with great success. Going through the front of the dryer and removing the drum is much more complicated and I may have to do that at some point to replace the drum wheels, but I haven't needed to replace them yet. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't do it. I thought the new belt was too short. What I wound up doing was leaving half the belt on top off the drum, then l had enough slack to fit it on. This was a great video, showed me everything I needed to do, *except*, on my model of dryer (model #MEDB880BW0), the emergency cutoff is completely different, it's a piece of electronics with a physical tab that goes in the cross-shaped cut-out, when the idelr pulley is released, it knocks the tab down. All you have to do is re-set that tab when you've got the new pulley all in place, but it did take me a little bit of testing and trial-and-error to get it right. Thanks so much!

@WasherDryerMoney Жыл бұрын
@@jennifermccoy7134 it’s highly likely in dryers, making squeaking noises that it’s the rollers or the belt pulley. There’s a few different types of dryers that open and have different style rollers, so be sure to look for videos with dryers that look like yours.
When you first removed the back plate, the belt was wrapped around both the idler pulley and the other roller directly below it. When you reassembled it, you did not put the belt on the idler pulley. Did I miss that step? Thanks!

Hi, great video. I have a maytag bravos, it makes a small thumping noise when spinning. Also right before it comes to a stop when you turn it off it makes a growling/thumping noise. Checked all rollers and they all seem to be spinning fine, could it most likely be idler pulley? Or bad spring? Or rollers worn out even if they spin fine?. Thanks in advance.
@WasherDryerMoney3 жыл бұрын
Check the drum itself where the rollers run. Sometimes they’ll be a little piece of lint or old rubber that will slowly grow and create a thumping noise when the roller hits it. Also occasionally there will be stuff in the actual dryer fins that flip the clothes. Usually it will sound like change going back-and-forth.

It could be the idler pulley or the drum rollers. That would be the first thing I would check. Sometimes you don’t even have to replace anything just white lithium grease. It just depends on how worn out the rollers are. Even a tiny bit of where will make them loud.

Solved the issue, if it will help anyone, make sure to align the belt more towards the center of the drum, not the back edge. Look for the old belt marks and align to help you. Also, make sure nothing is interfering with belt from being aligned. After making those corrections, I was able to get a tight fit, and install correctly.
