Drill a couple more oiling holes where the first piston failed? Chamfer the edges well. Looks like an oiling problem more than a heat problem on the video. Cool project. Great content.

Kyle, killer build bro! [I have a friend who used to turbo everything he got his hands on] Doing bikes is just awesome! A boosted TDUB would be so much fun. Reading the comments, I saw that your scoot was stolen? Aw man, that's the worst! I'm super stoked that you got your back though! I had 2 back in the mid/late 90s. 1 of them was stolen. Never got it back. **sigh** I just scored my 3rd recently. It's a 2013 - With only 47 original miles! Love it. Finally hit 500mi, so I could do the 1st oil change / service.. Now 600+mi, so I don't feel as bad beating on it harder than I was supposed to. haha Hey, back in the day, I had a SOHC CB750 chop w/ a Wiseco 836cc BigBore kit in it.. It ran like a raped-ape! Naturally aspirated - so just regular / flat-top pistons.. When helping w/ other turbo builds in the past, we've used 'dished-pistons'.. Did you look into that option for your TDUB? Just curious.. With dished, there wouldn't be the need to do the cylinder bore.. Again, just curious. I'm no guru on the subject by any means.. Keep up the great work man! i just brought a vz21 for my go kart for the life of me i cant find anywhere that says what psi spring it has was wondering if u might be able to let me no b4 i order a adjustable actuator n springs

It's about 10psi. And I cut mine to run 7psi and works good. I wish I had an adjustable one tho

where did you get the turbo for it?... got my Tdub a month ago and that looks like a great idea... mine is a 1999, so carb, can i still do that?... thx ;-)

Yeah mine was carb too. And it's a vz21 turbo it's easy to buy in ebay or aliexpress. It runs best with an efi kit tho. Like small engine one

We have to say sorry that we do not have the small EFI kits to sell anymore.Please feel free to contact us if you have any other question."... do you have any other source for that?

It honestly just looks like your rings have grabbed and broken the lower ring glands. Of you open up the ring gap you could probablu avoid this just fine!
