I accidentally washed my key as well and none of the buttons worked, they just set off the alarm and I got the no key message. A new battery didn't work. I took the key apart and put it in a cup of rice overnight. That got the alarm buttons to work but still had the no key message so it wouldn't start. I called the dealership and they wanted $150 for the new key plus $200 to program it and my vehicle had to be there so I'd have to have it towed. I put it back in the rice for about 8 more hours and it works fine now. Just make sure it has plenty of time to dry out before you get ripped off by the dealership.

You can also put the key inside the armrest, there's a little pocket in there and the car will start even without the key's battery

Concordeagle no my doesn't have anything in the inside the armrest other than the 12V slot, not to mention this escape is not a push button start vehical.

nick hutson it might be cheaper going to auotzone & buying the same type key & then setting it up to your new key by the left arrow on the left side of the steering wheel then going to settings - MyKey - Create Key on the screen behind the steering wheel

It's the same key isint it a laser cut key I'mma check out Auto zone and see if they have it I heard it would cost 125 and 50 to reprogram the key from a lock smith

nick hutson if you goto the dealer ship & have them set it up it's high, but autozone might set the new key up for you if they do that & if they do it probably be a lot cheaper. Did you get a 2nd key when you got the vehical. I don't have any videos showing how to program new keys & I've never done so myself. This is pretty much the only help I can give involveing the key problem that I currently know of that worked with me the other option is trying to look around on KZbin for videos on how to program new keys for your vehical

It’s not a battery issue I’ve change my battery three times I can’t start it at All anymore

You literally talked for 5 and a half minutes and nothing helpful was shown. I know how to change a battery in a key fob.

Yes, lucky after using a blow dryer on it to try & dry it more & replace the battery I was able to start it up

Correct my old key still isnt working the new one is. I just got a regular one this time.
