Fixing Our Cheap MK7 GTI

This is a MK7 GTI we bought for 3,000 Dollars that supposedly needed an engine. In our last video we replaced the spool valve and got the car running properly. Now its finally time to fix the rest of the car! Core support, ruined interior, headlights, wheels, and much more have to be done to get this car ready to sale!

@@ryanhoover7661 I think they're a lot better than the rep they get. Gen 1 and 2 have problems but Gen 3 and 4 are perfectly fine if you treat them right. Also they made A LOT of them over the years in different variations in pretty much every car the VW AG made in the past 17 or so years when they came out, so even if you see a lot of them broken online there are millions more out and about with no or barely any issues.

Not a fan either... When I first started dating my wife, she had a Dalmatian and the inside of her Acura Integra was actually worse than this GTI. Had pretty good luck with a stiff brush attachment for my shop vacuum. Better than using the nozzle or hose end at least.

Last December I was doing course check in my Mk7 GTI for a stage rally at a ski resort in BC. The snow was lower than usual and I discovered a some large concrete thing under the snow. It was an inch or so higher than the bottom of the car. The front bumper did a big ripple that broke most of the plastic bits under the bumper cover. It also pushed the core support up and destroyed it bottom half but not before it broke a lug off of the end of the intercooler. I watched Paul's old intercooler video many times to figure out how things went together to repair things. A few years ago, a guy doing a GTD conversion on a Mk7 TDI gave me the TDI bumper cover so I installed that on my GTI while I repair the GTI bumper. Then I realized that the ramp angle on the TDI bumper cover is better for the gravel road driving that I do, so I left it on the car. I have all of the parts but I still haven't repaired the GTI bumper.

They go by the name Bathurst, they're OEM VW 18x7.5 wheels that came on the MK6 GLI Autobahn
