Neat build! But also a little weird that you didn’t use the R2-D2 or C-3PO that came with the trash compactor set for a build that seemed to be designed for them. The R2-D2 didn’t have back printings and the C-3PO had a dual molded leg meaning it came from the UCS land speeder

Widescreen VHS of the original Star Wars Trilogy did exist. I own a Collector's Edition boxed set from 1992, which I ordered off QVC. The box had a hologram on the side and the fourth tape was the documentary 'From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga'. It also included an abridged version of Charles Champlin's book George Lucas: The Creative Impulse. Now, whether the sticker on that specific cassette matches what was shown in this video, I couldn't say without hauling those out of storage to compare... but the fact remains, widescreen VHS copies of Star Wars were a reality thirty years ago.

As awesome as your expansion is, I think it could be even better if you made it a stackable mod! If you could make the driod platform about 1/2 the depth of the trash compactor and somehow make 2 beams toward the front sides of the trash compactor, you could then have the expansion stack above the trash compactor supported by the trash compactors back wall and the beams without limiting the trash compactors functionality. Plus this way it would truly be an expansion that attaches to the trash compactor set!

Because things age. That thing is probably 10x more brittle than it was when it was first shipped out the factory, not to mention that considering its an original copy of one of the most popular movies in existence its also probably 1000x more expensive than it was when it first released.
