Fixing the Eagles is a lot easier with the ridiculous cap increase. Here’s my very quick fixes - 1. Cut Byard and Maddox. Immediately saves us something in the neighborhood of $15 million. I’d add Bradberry too, but the cap hit may not make it worth it. That said, with cap going up, I can see them eating the dead cap. 2. Extend: Devonta, Dickerson and Milton. All three have showed out, and completely justified a second contract. Pretty simple. 3. Sign a few FAs to address needs. Guys I’d target without being unrealistic would be L’Jarius Snead, Antonie Winfield, Kyle Dugger (can play as a joker), Lavonte David, and Z’Darius Smith. All of those areas are of major need (CB, S, and LB) or needing depth (Edge). Getting those guys would be significant, but much needed, investment on the defensive side of the ball. 4. Draft: First round targets (in order): Jackson Powers Johnson, Amarius Mims, Tailese Fuaga, Quinyon Mitchell, Troy Fauntanu, Terrion Arnold, or trade back. Line is a huge need with Kelce moving on, and Jurgens kicking to C. All the linemen targets will immediately slot in to keep our strength a strength. Round 2: Tyler Nubin, Edgerin Cooper, Jonah Elliss, Ladd Mconkey, Xavier Worthy, Troy Franklin, TJ Tampa, Ennis Rakestraw, Junior Colson, Brandon Dorlus, or Ruke Orrohoro. So many players because we have two second rounders. Need a WR3 who is consistent, LBs and dline depth. All these guys would be solid. Round 3: Braelon Allen, Johnathan Brooks or Bucky Irving. With swift gone, we need a new back; ideally on a rookie contract so we are not churning through the trash heap. Someone who can make plays as a receiver or runner would be just what the doctor ordered. Leaving the offseason in this shape would immediately: Shore up the defense, provide much needed depth, and help give Kellen Moore a few new pieces to make his offense work.

Yea it really isn’t that hard to have a decent roster on paper ready to contend . Nobody knows how anybody going to play so the best you can do is fill the holes

for the most part i totally agree. i dont think we need a CB as bad as people think. especially since were essentially stuck with bradberry. his cap hit would be like 19 mil or 11 mil if hes a post june cut. besides that we have isaiah ringo and ricks who could step into that CB role. i think LBer and DE are top priorities. if we can get brian burns that would be a HUGE upgrade there. and go for that kid from miami or queen at LBer and maybe going for CJGJ since hed be a cheap fill at Safety and he never wanted to leave anyway. cutting maddox and byard would free up 20mm. as for your draft i like it. we dont have to rush to get slims contract extension done and i think we have to solidify the offense with a legit slot Wr and a legit Rb. we could take a run at saquon we can now afford it him behind our o line would be elite.

@@morph261definitely need to get ahead of Smitty. With: JJ, Chase, Waddle, Pittman, Nico Collins and Amon Ra St. Brown all up for extensions next year, it’s better to be first, than last. Slot WR can be found in the draft for a very cheap contract. Filling the gaps with our cornerstones ASAP is important. It’s the same philosophy that has Hurts making less than: Herbert, Burrow and Lamar.

@@Phogadacbiet but this isnt a contract year though. hes only eligible for a contract. you can take care of it at or near the end of the year. we know itll get done and with the boost in cap lets see what players are asking in positions of need then calculate what well have and structure the contract similar to hurts' but i wouldnt be mad if his got done sooner. i just think hes a sure thing so make sue the other glaring holes are addressed first
@Phogadacbiet
@Phogadacbiet 8 ай бұрын
@@morph261 you don’t need to front load the contract. Howie has made a living on the cap by correctly calling for the huge increases YoY. Smitty’s extension doesn’t supersede what he’s set to make this year either. It’s just extending upon it. In theory, his $15 million hit will be there no matter what. Getting ahead of the market is what most teams try to do. The FA class wouldn’t be at all affected by any of the three aforementioned extensions.

Definitely don’t speak for me…. I know we haven’t developed a first round CB in a long time, but I think that this is a deep enough class to wait. Meanwhile, Jackson Powers-Johnson immediately slots in as a starter if Kelce retires and Jurgens moves to C. Keeping our O-line as a top unit is what Howie has done for years, and what has kept such a level of success for so many years. After JPJ, if one of Latu or Verse is there, I’d take them over Kool-Aid/DeJean. If those three prospects are gone, then sure, a CB probably makes sense, but a CB is a deep enough draft position to punt until round 2

The NFL did the right thing. I don’t have a single problem with what Dom did but it was dre getting ejected that made it a problem because what happens when the next time its the super bowl and a security guard or assistant pushes mahomes or burrow or allen after a big run and they retaliate then get ejected yes the team loses that assistant but now mahomes is out of the game can’t have that happen when ppl like sean payton and bill exist who would do scummy things like that

Dre was out of line, Dom was doing his job, even if it is mahomes if he starts a fight on the sideline maybe he should get kicked out just like dre

Dre hip tossed a receiver, stood up, and had some random fat guy (whose job description DOES NOT include breaking up fights, or getting involved with opposing players whatsoever) waving a hand in his face. Dre getting ejected forced NFL HQ's hand, and if he hadn't been then Dom wouldn't've been permanantly ejected, but Dom was in no way "doing his job".@@Rivers7777

It continues to amaze me that these analysts continue to forget that we lost 5 starters to free agency and one to injury on the defense that all happened to be manning the middle of the defense in addition to a new DC. Of course there was going to be a drop in play level there at minimum due to a potential lack of continuity, but the coaching staff failed miserably in resolving the issues.

It isn't what Dom did. It's the precedent it would've set if he didn't get the punishment he did. Oh, so staff members on the sidelines are under the same protection as refs, where if they're touched by a player when trying to break up a fight that player is ejected? Let's just put random dudes on the sidelines and hope the other team's players get into it close enough to where our staff can "intervene". Greenlaw getting ejected was complete bullshit, NFL HQ realized it, and more importantly realized the potential issues that could follow if Dom wasn't removed.

@@weedasaurusrex thats not basically what im saying. im saying he made mistakes yes, but the play calling was TERRIBLe. his personal numbers were virtually unchanged despite having a putrid offensive play caller. if you take the average of the last 2 years meaning he isnt as good as the superbowl year or as bad as this past year. his numbers are virtually unchanged except turnovers. which would drop by about HALF. making him an mvp candidate. i know reading and math is hard but try to keep up.
